I was diagnosed with PMR about a year ago and have been on prednisone (20 and weaning to 6 currently). Have recently started having bad headaches in the temporal area every afternoon. Tolerable but bad. I am concerned that I may be developing GCA but headaches seem to be the only sympton so far. No vision issues. I do have a bad taste in my mouth but had my sinuses checked out and they seem fine. Any guidance?

PMR was diagnosed by reaction to Prednisone and 'classic' onset symptons - shoulders, neck, arms then moving to hip girdle. Now c protein shows high but sed rate has been mostly in normal range.
Ich würde so schnell wie möglich zu einem Arzt gehen. Es hat keinen Sinn, bis Sie Ihr Augenlicht verlieren, bevor Sie es in Ordnung bringen.
Sollte der Schmerz also auf beiden Seiten des Körpers sein? Kann er nicht nur auf einer Seite sein? Denn in meinem Fall tut nur meine linke Seite vom Kopf bis zu den Zehen weh.
Und alle Blutuntersuchungen waren normal. Nur mein Gehirn-MRT war abnormal.
Ich vermute, dass Sie entweder einen sehr ungewöhnlichen Fall von PMR haben oder etwas ganz anderes, Kate.... geben Sie nicht auf, Ihren Arzt nach Antworten zu drängen!

20mg to 6mg in one year is very fast, have you tried going back to where you were comfortable say 10mg.
I would be pushing your medics, this does not sound good at all.
