poss mirt dose split morning/evening?

been on mirt 3 wks on jan 30th.over xmas i hav been so tired with nodding off a lot thro out the day which is not me.ok getting up is awful but i expect that to go.i was thinking of splitting dose.....over to you

I have heard of people doing this.

Was considering it myself. I'm on 45mg taken at night.

Its supposed to have a more sedative effect on the lower dose of 15mg and a more activating effect at the higher doses of 30mg and 45mg.

Im included to agree as 45mg still help me to sleep but I don't feel groggy for half the day as I did on  the lower doses.

My problem is that I tend to start feeling more like my old self at about 9pm at night and I'd like to see that evened out throughout the day so I was wondering if splitting the rise might help this.

Something to discuss with my GP probably.

I think we can only give it a go and see what works best for us xx

I'm on 45 mg and the only benefit I can see is it helps me to sleep at night.  I also have palpitations and constant panic attacks.  I've been on it for 4 months and have put on 2 stones in weight.  The GP last week also started me on Sertaline which is the same family as fluoxetine to boost my mood but this is making me more agitated.  I'm just a complete mess and just don't know what to do as I only feel normal for about 3 hours in the evening.

Hi sugar loaf, I was on 45mg for 4yrs to be taken at night, now I can't say as they made any difference to me in the day ,but they did help me sleep. My problem and many more has been comeing of them at the moment Im down to 15mg and that's took me over 6mths,because you have to come down very slowly. I won't mention the effects it has when comeing down because we're all different.   You never mentioned what mg your on, but my advise to you would be to stick with them at night, until you see your GP. Tell him how you feel. Personally it's not a tablet I'd ever want to be on again, due really to the WD problems. But as I say we're all different, and it has to be your decision but please don't mess around with this type of medication without seeing your GP.  Take care
