Post‑mononucleosis throat sensitivity

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some general insight regarding my situation. A few months ago I had mononucleosis, and my recent tests confirm that I’ve recovered. However, since then I’ve been dealing with a persistent swelling in my throat, along with a feeling of irritation and increased sensitivity that hasn’t fully resolved.

The ENT specialist I saw linked this to my dust allergy, which causes rhinitis, and prescribed Bactoblis and Pafinur for 40 days. I’m following the treatment, but my throat still feels more sensitive than usual even though the infection has cleared.

I’d like to understand, in general terms, whether a prolonged recovery with residual throat swelling or sensitivity is common after mononucleosis, and whether allergies can influence the healing process. I’m not looking for a diagnosis or treatment advice—just general experiences or clinical insight to better understand the situation.

Thank you for your time.
