HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MUSCLES REATTACHING TO THE BONE AFTER SURGERY? I HAD MAJOR HIP REPAIR WITH ROD AND SCREWS TWO YEARS AGO.MY HIP IS CONSTANTLY SWOLLEN AND MY GAIT IS AWFUL. WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE DONE.ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL.
If their is absolutely nothing they can do to reattach it to the bone then a few options would be to may do a repair something that a hernia repair so use some kind of gause
Other than that build the muscle up so much that it is stronger
Wear a hip spicca
Why did they pull it away so much during the operation
I have a condition called Bruscitus, not sure of the spelling, I would get your condition a referral to the Victoria hospital here in Blackpool, the surgeons here are superb.
I had my full hip replacement in June and the muscle was severely damaged prior to op, thus walking was very difficult, and I had a bad limp. Had operation and Surgeon was adamant that I use crutches until the muscle is stronger. Too many people do NOT realise you have to be patient!! The difference in a few month’s is amazing. I now feel I am getting somewhere, walking is getting better by the day, backache much less now, so quite obviously the muscle is getting much stronger. Both crutches should be used until your gait is back to normal. This is SO important. Your patience will pay off !!
I had hip revision surgeries over two years back and am still on two crutches…I cannot get my glute muscles firing at all, tried hydrotherapy, physio and gym sessions to no avail. I know they were not in optimum condition prior to surgery but there was a lot of work involved with the revision surgery. Unfortunately the bone didn’t knit around the new hip so a third surgery planned for this month !!It seems to be quite difficult to get any information on muscle repair…
