I’ve been on Lexapro for my panic disorder for the past 3 months now. Today I told my doctor how I felt it wasn’t working for my anxiety and panic at all so she told me to stop taking Lexapro and take Prozac. I start it in the morning, she put me on 20mg. Has any taken or is taking this? How has it helped you??

HI I've been today for the same resume, but I was only on escitalopram 5 weeks , 5mg, having terabyte anxiety and sweating, also menopausel, doctor has put me on 10mg prozac,, starting Monday, but after reading all these forums it sounds just as bad, not sure what to do now, but doctor said prozac would help my menopausal hot flushes, she wanted to put me on 20mg, but I said no as I have grandkids to lookafter, I would never go in that high, incase of bad side effects, what was you symptoms for coming off lexapro, many thanks ,
I haven’t stopped the Lexapro. I’m just gonna skip my dose tonight and start the Prozac in the morning. I did try to quit Lexapro once though and my only issue was BAD HEADACHES.

20mg may be the working dose for this medication, I know with some medications the level of the medication may be correct you will be reducing the effectiveness of the medication not following the wishes of your Health Professional. Did your GP bow down to a dose of 10mg or was that your decision. ?

Mine frightened to death, as having panic attacks through the night, waking up 2pm, and sweating to the sheets about 7pm, I have seen so many bad story,s on prozac,
Please don’t worry. I do know it works different for everyone. I will keep you posted or inbox you how it’s working for me. Hang in there. The withdrawals will not last long at all.
