I’ve been having short sharp chest pains for a week now. First it would happen around the same time every day but now it happens more frequently each day, but still randomly. It would be short sharp pains when I lay down and when I breath in deeply.
I don’t know if this is related but I have also been experiencing chills and night sweats, though not every night.
What could be causing this?
All those symptoms sound exactly like pericarditis. Its caused by a virus and the usual treatment is anti inflammatories like Ibuprofen ,plenty of drinks, rest, stay in a warm room or even in bed. It can help to be more upright when you are in bed, sleeping. Can take 10 days to 2 weeks to resolve.
If the chest pains become more severe then go to A/E if you are in UK. You may need something stronger than Ibuprofen.
thank you for your response
Are you having any breathing problems, high blood pressure or palpitations? If you are, look up pulmonary embolism symptoms.
i don't know about high blood pressure, but i do sometimes experience the other two.
Okay. Ill take a look. Thanks
