Random sinus nose pressure no other symptoms?

Well this could be a factor as i am a known teeth grinder at night. Not excessive but I know I do grind my teeth.

Hi Robyn,

Sorry for the late reply, no it doesn’t seem to crackle.

Hi Jack,

Sorry for the late reply, that could be part of it, I don’t actually grind my teeth but I have been known to chew my gums at night, especially if I am stressed about something.

Hi Jason. I can’t believe how relieved I am that I finally found someone online who suffers from the same thing that I am suffering from. Not that I want you to suffer from anything, but I guess you know what I mean - it’s just SO nice to hear that I’m not the only one in the world with this problem.

I haven’t met a single person or doctor who understands what I am talking about when I am trying to explain my pressure pain at the bridge of my nose - and also under the eyes often. I had it for 5 weeks before Christmas, then it disappeared for a month but came back exactly 3 months ago and has been there constantly since then. It’s always there. Or well, if I’m lucky, somedays it disappears for an hour or two. In the bad days my entire head hurts because of it.

Just like you, I’ve been to the doctor several times, the ENT, a neurologist - and I’ve had a CT and a MRI. And nobody knows anything, and I can’t get anywhere in the medical system right now because of corona. I’m so frustrated!

I’m sorry for sharing my entire life story here, but I’m just so relieved to finally - after googling a billion pages in both Danish (I’m from Denmark) and English - finding someone who knows what I am talking about.

How are you doing now?

Greetings,
Merete

Hi,
i have had pressure in bridge of my
nose for well over 5 years and do also get crackling/popping sensation. definitely worse wearing glasses and also when i lay down. would love to know what causes it!

Have any of you been diagnosed with or tested for Binocular Vision Dysfunction? I have the same pressure, I had it first a year ago for about a week and then it went away, and now I’m having it again, and I’ve been reading about BVD while trying to figure out an explanation for all of this.

I have the exact same symptom. I also poured through health information to no avail.
I noticed it about two (1 1/2) months ago. It is not there all the time but often enough on a daily basis. An the frequency is increasing.
I think for me it has to do with stress. It seems that if I relax it lessens. Someone mentioned there being a connection with grinding teeth; I do and I also snore at night. Like you, I cannot see my doctor because of covid but frankly I think it is stress related so I’ve been exercising, etc. It also seems to be more pronounced if I am tired, so I have been trying to stick to a sleep schedule to get 7-8 hours sleep consistently.

I also though it might have been triggered by having the covid rapid test. I’ve had several so i thought perhaps the swabbing irritated my nostril. But after reading this thread, maybe not.
So far the relaxation and breathing exercises are helping me manage.
I am glad to have found this thread. Now I know I am not crazy.

Hi, I have the same issues. GERD and the pressure in my nose is driving me crazy. Did your symptoms get better?
i finally found someone with the same health issues as me. The doctors have not been helpfull at all, so im searching the internet.

hi Sarah,

to you get popping and crackling when you open you mouth in the ears?
I finally found someone with the same issues.
the nose pressure is really annoying.
It could be related to GERD

Hi, I’m 27, suffered with this last year around the same time (March/Spring) and on both times I’m unemployed, doing little exercise, a lot of laying down looking at a screen and that’s basically it, it makes me think its tiredness of the eyes because of the screen and it does get worse while looking at the screen but might just be cause I’m focused. What’s more strange to me is that this last time I’ve been having it day yes day no, without fail. I’m sure tomorrow I’ll wake up just normal and then after dinner time it starts coming and then in the next day is right from the morning. pretty annoying but no pain, like a curse -.- i hope you people get better

Hi everyone, this will be lengthy, I have a combination of every symptom mentioned here. I’m from Mobile, Al. I am legally blind in my right eye after a massive trauma. I visited 3 local ENTs, an oral surgeon, a dentist, multiple eye doctors, a tear duct specialist, and I am currently in Baltimore at John Hopkins trying to find an answer.
Because the trauma to the right eye, I wear Costa Del Mar sunglasses constantly while outside. I have crackling in my ear, tightness in my nose, thick saliva, a tight jaw, and the only relief i ever find is popping air out of my right tear duct area. I’ve tried NSAID, narcotics, saline nasal spray, artificial tears, steroids, antibiotics, antihistamines, Afrin, Flonase, Clariten, Singulair, muscle relaxants, Gabbapentin, Pregabbalin, anti anxiety medicines, medicines to increase saliva, and the list goes on. I have GERD, bad breath, and constant post nasal drip. The symptoms only continue to worsen as time goes on. I work both outside and on the computer daily. I vape and was a user of Marijuana daily for over 10 years until it just made the symptoms worse so I recently put it down. Ive had MRIs, CTs, Xrays, hearing tests, and countless examinations.
Even the best ENTs in this country have no answers. At this point I feel mentally ill.
I have a HIGH stress job and don’t exercise nearly enough.
From reading this, I feel at least some relief that I am not alone in this, and may not be insane.
I just wanted to share my experience and let you all know,I WILL FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS.
So far a massage therapist and chiropractor have been the only true relief that Ive gotten but it never lasts.
When my mind is busy, it seems like the symptoms slack off, as soon as I sit down to relax, they come on 10 fold.

My questions for all of you:
Do you all have persistent shoulder/neck pain?
Does anyone experience numbness in their arms, legs, back?

When my stress is at its worst, my neck and shoulder tighten, and the symptoms hit like brick wall. This makes me believe its nerve related.
Ive noticed the nerves in my bottom lip under my K9 teeth get very prominent, my right fingers tingle, my right leg tingles, my back tingles.

If this really is from stress, I think I’m doomed.
The only other idea i have left is Binocular Vision Disorder, which I noticed someone else in this forum mentioned as well. This would make sense as my right eye has a macula off retina detachment and cannot interact with the other any more.

Thank you all for sharing, it at least gives me some hope that by improving my health may improve this maddening situation.

Hi,
I too face this same situation for few years now.
I feel this pressure on my nose bridge when I try to sleep and honestly I think it’s nothing serious but annoying. Also it is more likely connected with our brain because we think about it consciously or subconsciously. Hope it goes away though.

I’ve had this problem with the exact same symptoms for 10 months now, and it’s been really annoying. I have my second ENT appointment tomorrow, so I’m feeling apprehensive. Did any of you get any answers? I honestly thought, until now, that I was losing my mind and imagining this.

Unfortunately I never ended up getting any answers. I did grind my teeth so maybe look into that as the cause. I kept myself distracted and overtime over a few months it just disappeared. I haven’t had symptoms for a few years now so don’t lose hope if the doctors can’t find anything wrong. Good luck and I hope it goes away for you soon. The crazy thing is if I think about this feeling in my head I can actually induce it into my nose again. So some part of me thinks that this may be a feeling that I am amplifying the more I think about it. Hence why I didn’t notice it if I was distracted.
