Really frequently deja vu scaring me. Need comforting words/ help

Over the course of around just under a month, i have been experiencing alot, of deja vu. And its scaring me. I've always been pessimistic and i just need some comfort words. Thank you

Hi Henry. I know exactly what you're talking about. When I have intense anxiety I also get déjà vu. Then I talked to more people on the site and they say the same thing. It's really weird but seems to be common in people with anxiety. Nothing to worry about.  When I started managing my anxiety better the déjà vu went away. It seems when I get overly anxious is when it happens. I think the mind, when it gets over anxious just kind of shoots out weird things in your thoughts. So the key is to calm down your brain as much  as possible with things like YouTube meditations for anxiety, slow deep breathing and just try to relax as much as possible. But don't worry about the déjà vu it's harmless.

thank you i will try that

With above remember Deja Vu is past and gone, if you remember past actions or life choices they do not need to be frightening, Good past memories can be possibly brought to the surface where you remember past lives or actions from earlier times. The past is gone, you live for the future.

Hi Jan, sorry if this is a strange question. I've noticed you're replies on this wonderful forum and they are fantastic and I thank you so much for them!

For the last two nights I have woken up in the early hours and thought I could see a man in the doorway. Could the anxiety cause hallucinations? I am unsure whether it's just my eyes playing tricks on me in the night or of anxiety can cause things like that. I've always had very vivid dreams and have definitely had more since taking Citalopram but never the strange visions in the night!

Thanks x

Thank you very much shade. I like to share what I know about stress and anxiety because I've had it since my early 20s and I am now in my 50s. I want people to know that if they truly have an anxiety diagnosis, they can learn to control  it and the symptoms from anxiety cannot hurt you.

The medication  you are taking could be responsible for some of that.

I know that when your brain is over anxious, it fires thoughts off randomly at times. That's why we get bombarded with different thoughts all at once  and our mind races. I'm sure an anxious mind can also cause you to think you're seeing something that's not there. This has happened to me when I was outside I thought I saw a little critter near the deck area in the backyard.  I didn't know what it was and I was a little freaked out. But as I got closer it turned out to be nothing. There were a bunch of leaves there but my mind had me believing it was something else.  The mind is a very powerful thing!  It tends to go to the negative if we allow it to.

if that ever happens to you again, start long slow deep breathing to remain calm and tell yourself anxiety is causing this and I will be OK. The more anxious we get ,  the more these weird things will happen.

there's a great meditation on YouTube called detachment from overthinking. So don't worry about what has happened it's all from anxiety! You'll be just fine. 🌸🌸🌸😁🌹

Sorry Jade. My iPad put shade instead of Jade. LOL

Anxiety can give you deja vu.
