Dear shawn,
I need a more information from you to help confirm the diagnosis:
- Can you please show us the itchy rash/areas of your thighs and buttocks?
- Are you itching elsewhere, such as between your fingers, wrists, elbows, armpits, umbilical fold etc?
- When was the last time you had sex, who was it with (regular or casual partner), and how soon after sex did you start to develop the spots on your penis and the itching, etc?
I suspect you may have scabies but it would help if you could provide more info as above.
Adhari
thank you for the response adhari,
i provided a picture if the red bumps.
i do experience random spots that itch, like the side of my hand, side of my foot, one to two small bumps on my knee that itch. its almost quiet random. Had one on my forearm. but its the worse on my buttocks and my thighs .
last time i had sex was about 2 weeks.
Dear shawn,
Thanks for the update. It confirms my suspicions that you have scabies. Please Google scabies and check the condition yourself. Reliable sources of information are DermentNZ and Wikipedia. The pattern of distribution is not ‘random’! Please read the descriptions from these reputable sources.
You and your (sex) partner/s need to be treated with 5% permethrin cream or 0.5% malathion lotion. Read the instructions carefully! For the scabetic nodules on the penis, try to apply crotamiton (Eurax) cream if this is available locally.
Rgds,
Adhari.
