These spots surfaced overnight on my wife's forearm. Should we be worried?
I get purpura on my arms and sometimes on my legs. I think in my case it may be caused by medication I am taking. They don't hurt they just look a bit strange.
As ptolomy has said they are common on the arms and sometimes the legs. Often caused by blood thinning medication and common in the older age group especially, as the skin becomes thinner. Can be caused but knocking the skin and you dont even remember the knock,then the red marks appear. Can even occur if something has pressed into the skin while asleep. Not harmful but a timely warning to be careful,so that your wife doesnt get more or bigger red spots.
