Is it possible to relapse so bad when you have anxiety. I've had this for 10 years and have pull myself out of many down moments and got back on track with driving, working, and getting out of the house, which was hard work because my anxiety was pretty horrible. But about 4 months ago I began having gallbladder issues so I stopped working because I was in too much pain and now it's like I totally regret it because I'm scared of life again. I won't lie some things are different like remembering how to breathe and call myself; however, I'm scared to drive alone and go to work. I don't want to leave the house it's like starting all over from square one. Is this normal? Has anybody else dealt with this? I'm so tired it's like it never goes away, like a never ending battle and the sad thing is that I know got through it before but I can't remember how I did it. Any advice would be great.

Hi,I was doing pretty well until an old health issue came back, the symptoms from it have started my anxiety back up big time.

yes Sarah. Anxiety can be gone for quite a while and then suddenly reappeared, usually when you are undergoing stress. It’s similar to a chronic condition where you can be free of symptoms for a long time and then it comes back. The main thing to do is relax your mind as much as possible and try to remove stressors out of your life. Besides the gallbladder issue, think of things that are causing you anxiety.
A couple other things you can do are,
speak with a therapist who has the tools in order to help you manage this. It really helps a lot just to vent which decreases the anxiety.
Another thing is try not to take life too seriously. It’s just not worth losing our health over issues.
Also, make time for yourself and put yourself first when you are feeling this way. I had to learn how to say no to people. It’s difficult at first but it’s necessary because if we don’t put ourselves first then we really can’t help others.
Next, eat a very healthy diet and try to stay away from caffeine and junk food because they will increase the anxiety. Sugar is an inflammatory agent which damages body tissues.
get some exercise. This will help build up your immune system to fight anxiety. Go for a walk in the beautiful nature, listen to relaxing music, in other words, enjoy the simple things in life! I think that’s the one thing lacking in today’s world. Everything is about the latest technology and running here and running there. where are we actually running to? See if you can slow down and take in everything.
Try to stay active and socialize. The worst thing you can do is sit around and think about things because we tend to overthink things which leads to anxiety.
Listen to some great short meditations on YouTube for anxiety. I do this every night before I sleep. There are hundreds of them. I do hope you feel better soon.
Lastly, SMILE AND LAUGH. when we do this, there is an actual change in the brain! A very good one.
Hang in there and just take one day at a time!

Thank you for your response I will try to relax and give it time. Happy V day I hope you have a wounder weekend.

Im so sorry that you are dealing with health issues. I hope you a better soon.
