Hace un año me sometí a una artroplastia total de rodilla (TKR) que fracasó debido a un problema de rotación y alineación, y todo tuvo que ser repuesto hace tres semanas después de que el problema se descubriera en una tomografía computarizada tras obtener una segunda opinión. Esta vez me han colocado una prótesis de plataforma rotatoria, tallo largo y articulada, y llevo tres semanas de recuperación, aunque es muy doloroso y no se dobla demasiado bien en esta etapa. Soy una persona de 62 años, en forma y activa, y no veo la hora de recuperar mi vida después de 12 meses de dolor y hinchazón continuos (¡y el cirujano original diciéndome que solo era impaciente!).
Me pregunto si alguien ha tenido una experiencia similar y, en caso afirmativo, cómo fue la recuperación. También, ¿alguien tiene idea de cuánto dura este tipo de prótesis? ¡Acepto cualquier consejo!

Poor you, you certainly have been through the mill! I had nothing as complex as that, just trying to get through it was such a help here. Dont know what I would have done without the guys here.
There are a couple of people on here who will be able to give you the advise you need, as they have had some terrible problems.

Meeeee! I had TKR Dec '13 and had the same experience as you except I waited 2 years after being told nothing was wrong by the surgeon and to "go and live my life "!
I had a revision Dec '15 and,although my bend isn't any better,my pain is much improved (the new doctor did warn me about the bend).
Prostheses last longer these days as long as you don't abuse them with running etc!
¡Oh, eso es buena noticia entonces, estás haciendo bien si solo lo hiciste en diciembre! Aunque supongo que aún no estás libre de dolor, lo siento por eso. Lamento que hayas tenido que esperar 2 años... Lo mismo podría haberme pasado a mí si no hubiera pedido una segunda opinión y me hubiera hecho un escáner.
No tengo intención de volver a correr, ¡solo estaré feliz de caminar sin dolor!
No,not pain free yet but more comfortable than this stage with the first op. I did ask for a second opinion eventually,hence the revision.
i can empathise with you i too have had a revision its been along road for me . im 18mths post revision ,it can take longer to recover from a revision ,i know i have !!. my bend was only70 before op and id say now undr 100 but i can now sit properly without putting the leg out in front of me .my pain is reduced but not gone .i do have stiffness . especially in the morning . my problem didnt show up on the scan but i pushed for a revision because of the pain and lack of bend .
my recovery was as i said very slow i put in alot of work to bending that knee and i lost some of my straightenng and sill not able to get it properly straight .my advise to you is watch the straightening and keep at it ,because before the revision i had no problem with straightening so i feel i neglected it after the op as i was obsessed with bending so dont let that happen to you .the new ones should last i really do hope so . not sure what prosthesis i have to be honest but i do know that its different to the last one and i do have rods as well . pm anytime if you need to x
Gracias por el consejo. No tengo ningún problema con el enderezamiento esta vez, pero para mí, el doblar es mucho más lento y doloroso. Solo estoy a las tres semanas y media y puedo manejar 90 (apenas). La primera vez que estaba haciendo 120 en esta etapa. Algunas personas dicen que lleva aproximadamente un año la recuperación, espero estar con menos dolor a medida que pasan los meses.
También tengo osteoporosis, por lo que me pregunto si mis huesos tardarán más en sanar (¡tienen varillas en ellos!). Mi cirujano parecía no preocuparse en ese momento. Usó varillas sin cementar y dijo que el hueso crecerá alrededor de ellas y esperemos que dé un fuerte vínculo. Sin embargo, cementó la parte superior en la articulación.
