Last week I was diagnosed with prolapsing gastric muscosa and a paraesophageal Hernia after my ensodcopy.
I'm a 21 year old female, I was just wondering will I have to have surgery? I've read that paraesophageal (Rolling) hernias are less common than sliding ones and they require surgery.
I do want to get rid of it because everything I eat and drink upsets it and I become in a lot of pain! Especially alcohol and at 21 I don't really want to be giving that up just yet. Has anyone ever had this surgury before and what is it like?
Acabo de someterme a una cirugía por hernia hiatal paraesofágica, sí, definitivamente necesitarás cirugía si se estrangula, probablemente morirás si no la detectan a tiempo. Yo me hice la misma cirugía el 25 de marzo de 2017. No voy a mentir, es muy doloroso, pero a largo plazo te sentirás mucho mejor, hazlo, confía en mí. Solo el 5% de las personas tienen este tipo de hernia, la paraesofágica. Fue lo mejor que hice. Todavía tengo mucho dolor, no podía comer, tan pronto como comía, me sentía como si hubiera comido una comida enorme, no podía eructar, no podía vomitar. Es realmente un estómago al revés. ¡HAZTE LA CIRUGÍA!

Thank you for your reply. I think I will have the surgery just because of the amount of pain I am in. How long did you take to recover because i've got so many holidays booked this year!
