Sacral Herpes

Hi! I'm new to this group and just recently been diagnosed. I've been feeling so depressed lately and Just down. I'm 29 and have no idea where I could have gotten it from. I got my first outbreak thinking back about 2 years ago when I was pregnant with my 3rd son. At that time I thought it was a bite of some sort since it was on my right buttcheek and didn't get anything again until this past February. Since then I feel like it's been attacking me. Always on my right buttcheek around the same spot. I now take daily Valtrex but still get a little pimple size bump and also nerve pain and scarring. I'm so confused and depressed about this. I tried to talk to my kids father and he acted like I was nasty and it couldn't possibly of came from him ( he was unfaithful). Anyone else deal with this on their buttocks any advice or positiveness would be really apprietiated! Sorry for rambling 😊

How did you get diagnosed? From a culture &/ blood work?

Bloodwork

Hi there, I too have it on my butt, no where else. Again like you it appeared about almost three years ago but I think mine was brought on by severe stress. I was wrongly diagnosed three times, from bacterial infection to pilondial cyst. A different GP said herpes in January, following a particularly severe viral infection, this year but she didn't actually test in any way, just a visual. Also in an eight year relationship and he shows no symptoms. I've had no meds, I just use Sudo cream but to be fair other than being inconvenient and a little uncomfortable, I've think I've gotten off lightly. This forum has been amazing for info, and through it I've learnt about strengthening my immune system a healthy diet, etc and I've really got to know my body. I had very big gaps between my outbreaks to start with, 8-10 months, this January it seemed to be there all the time but has now cleared. Positive thinking has helped me a lot and I know that's hard when first diagnosed, I've accepted it for what it is, a skin infection. Keep the area clean and dry, loose fitting clothes to stop the chaffing. I also first worried where I got it from but again that's a pointless worry as I've heard it can be dormant in the body for years,  also that men show less symptoms or they just don't recognise them, so the moment you become sexually active your risk increases. It does get better and your coping mechanism improves, also you'll learn what is the right way for you of dealing with the outbreaks. Like I say this site and forum has been a wealth of information, and I thank all those who contribute from the bottom of my heart.
