Every day for some time I get this "struggling to breathe" feeling and it's like my lungs can't get enough air. My heart rate jumps too, and recently I've had trouble hearing in one ear. I'm only 15 but I'm scared something is really wrong with me and that something's going to happen to me. I've told my parents but they don't think it's serious enough to go to a doctor. What do I do? I'm depressed and I just want to be happy and feel secure about my health. Panic attacks seem like a regular thing now....
My therapist thought me: just let the panic attack happens, don’t fight it. I have had struggling to breath for many years . You should try mindfulness , try download the headspace app. Is good .
Also , you should also see a psychaitrist asap. Take care
Hi;
I agree with Mag. Fighting a panic attack makes it worse. Tell yourself your not going to let it beat you and go with the feelings. Say "bring them on".
Think of the worst thing that can happen from one. I know it feels like your dying but from what I have heard nobody has died from one yet. Make sure there is no underlying disease causing them and get help soon. All the best. You are not alone.
I’m so sorry Eunice. Maybe you need to sit down with your parents and have a serious talk with them. Tell them you are really struggling and would like some help. Maybe even psychiatry help. The psychiatrist can evaluate you and explain to your parents if and why you are in need of medication:
