I have it and it's affecting my right leg and the pain is awful, feels like a spear being thrust into groin and goes down thigh muscle to knee and almost makes me forget how to walk! My knee begins to feel funny, I have taken just about everything that exists for the pain and ant-inflammatories. Including Gabapentin and Arcoxia. Medications only help temporarily, lower the inflamation so you can exercise. Acupuncture hepls, but didn't help me much, I had tapes as well, didn't notice any relief.I've had 24 sessions of traction and Osteopath work, the pain disappeared, temporarily! Also had 20 sessions with Chiropractor who recommended alternatice treatment that included massage , muscular liberation,+ exercise & walking. I DO take all the suplements, Glucosomine with Chrondoitin, Mutli-Vitamin, Selenium, Fish Oil 1000mgs twice a day and NOW I take Natural Turmeric capsules with peperine,(6 a day) which fight inflamation, also Garlic Capsules, Extra Virgem Olive Oil three times a day, Vit D with Calcium, Sachets of Collagen Peptides in water to help tissues repair. From what I've learned the only thing that can cure pain is constant exercise, be it YOGA, Pilates or Stretching exercises. I'm starting Pilates next week & will continue with Heat, Laser, Tens, Epsom Salts & MUSIC relieves pain! In fact, if you have NO incontinence problem, COFFEE also relieves pain and makes exercise easier. I'm still doing medical exams to see if I have any degeneration of the hip bones, as the back doesn't hurt at all, & the physiotherapy is all directed at the spine, L4, L5, Herniated Disc and Stenosis which pinches the Sciatic nerve. There! Good Diet , losing weight , helps too. I've lost 25lbs. HFLC with The Diet Doctor, Andreas Eeinfeldt
Really Sciatic is NOT a diagnosis . It's just the name of the largest nerve in the body, which runs down the spine and goes through both sides of the hips to the legs. If pinched& damaged it will cause impediments . Diagnosis is EXACTLY WHERE it's being pinched & WHAT can be done so that the pressure is relieved thats causing the pain & immobilty. Doctor's have to be very thorough & get ALL the exams MRI Scan, Ultra-Sound Electoneuromiograph, Tomography, it takes a really good specialist to REALLY DIAGNOSE EXACTLY what is going on. Sciatica is NOT a diagnosis. it means he doesn't know, just generic.I hate doing the exercises but it seems that's about the only way to improve,
