When you get biospy of the uterus done at the hospital as out patient in OR did you have to get blood work done first? For those that had this done how long did it take?
I did one in February of this year. It was an in office procedure and only took a few minutes. I was told to take ibuprophen before I came in. The only difference, is that a scope wasn't done. It was just a little uncomfortable, but not much more than doing a pap smear. I was told I could expect some bleeding afterwards, but really didn't have anything but a few drops. While an ultrasound showed a thickened lining, (the reason for the procedure) the uterine biospy results came back fine.
Hope your experience is the same.
Gailannie, was your cervix closed? Was you menopause? Did you have any post meno bleeding? How thick was your lining ? Mine is 9mm
I have been in menopause since 2008, when I was 52 1/2 years old. No one ever mentioned whether my cervix was closed, however I susspect it was, because that is fairly normal. (Our cervix opens during periods under the influence of progesterone.)
My lining was listed as 12mm by ultrasound. This was the direct result of estradiol patches, given to me for menopausal symptoms. And yes, I was working with a hormone specialist, who's goal was to get my cycles back up and running. So I had semi normal period cycles for many months. I was also using progesterone 14 days of the month.
