Sertraline & extreme tiredness and nausea

Hello, sorry I know I end up posting on here quite a lot but I do find comfort in everyone's reaponses. The past 4 days I have been extremely tired to a point that I've been asleep by 7.30/8pm and have eye twitches all day and felt nauseous - i am almost on week 6 of 50mg per day of sertraline and just wondering if this is normal?

Thank you,

Jodie

Hi Jodie

Chronic tiredness seems to be a side affect from sertraline no matter the dose.i thought it might have eased off dropping to 25mg from 50mg but it didn't make a difference. It hits me around 3-4 hours after taking it,it's a a battle in itself fighting it.also get twitches & spasms when sleeping or trying to sleep.try some high protein foods/fruit etc to help you

Thank you, I will definitely try altering my diet a bit to see if it helps as I hadn't really thought of that And seems like a good idea!

Hi Jodie,

Your definitely not alone! I am on week 4 of 100mg. I found the same, that I was absolutely exhausted around 8pm to the point that I couldn't keep my eyes open from pure exhaustion. I used to take my tablet in the morning but the last 4 days I have started taking it at around 1 pm. I have found its made a bif difference as I am now not feeling the effects so much until around 10-11.

Maybe something to consider trying.

When I started 100mg I was falling asleep at any chance, I couldn't stop awake. This is better now at 2weeks in but I can't say its helping my depression and anxiety well not enough
