hi, I’ve been on sertraline for five weeks now but having had a meeting with psychiatrist he has advised that I stop taking them as of now, I’m only taking 37.5mg. Does anyone know whether there Wii be bad withdrawal symptoms if I just stop. any advice welcome
hi i am coming off 150mg and managing. i am down to 100mg and its ok. My belief is if you’re planning to do without it. Reduce your dose gradually. Drugs are only a means to an end . Your convictions and belief will bring you through .
Hi Angela I was on sertraline 50mg for nearly 6 weeks and have been stopped for 3 weeks now and my side effects have been bad ranging from chest pains - shortness of breath - aching like flu like symptoms - headaches the list goes on - still suffering now and it should be out of my system according to doctors ? All people are different though so you might not suffer :0) cheers Mark
hi mark did you taper down to a lower dose before coming off, how are you coping with withdrawal symptoms now. Angela
Hi Angela and no tapering down as doc said as I hadnt been on it long itd be safe just to stop - still feeling terrible its been over 3 weeks now and body constantly aching mainly chest and arms still get short of breath easily and stomach dosent seem good either not sure if sertraline messed my digestive system and the chest pains are caused by gerd \ acid reflux and that then triggers my anxiety which causes shortness of breath but that still dosent explain achey arms and feeling weak and no energy ? Maybe I just couldnt tolerate this medication where as others can but tbh wish I`d never taken it :0(
