My father has been experiencing back problems with burning pain down his leg. He has had MRI's done, had many epideral shots, but, nothing seems to give him any relief and Doctors don't have any answers. It is so sad and I feel so helpless. He says each day the pain gets worse and worse.
have you looked into Arachnoiditis?
Nothing worse then chronic back pain. Has he sought a second opinion? Are you anywhere near a University like Stanford, UCSF, etc? I would ask for a referral there. In the mean time, he might try acupuncture, seriously. Find a good, well trained acupuncturist. Good luck!
Thank you so much for the suggestions. He is 84, has gone to numerous doctors over the years in Dallas, Texas. The epideral shots used to help, but, have failed to do much for him this past year. I will ask him about acupuncture. I don't think he has tried that. I've suggested he seek out a doctor at Southwest Medical here in Dallas. I was hoping to find more info, but, there just isn't much info on the internet about anyone actually finding relief from his type of back problem.
