So for 10 months I’ve had terrible Heath anxiety. I’ve worried about lots of things including brain tumours, MS and numerous different cancers. To cut a long story short about this (as I’ve explained a lot more in previous posts) I got put on 20mg of citalopram last month which has eased my anxiety a lot, however I still have this hand tremor that bothers me. It appeared back in jan when I was worrying about MS. Started in my thumbs, then my fingers and now October it seems to be one my wrists too a little. It’s really fine and doesn’t really stop neck doing anything but with my anxiety really low I worry that this isn’t just something caused by anxiety and could get worse? I asked the doctor who seems to think it is an essential tremor that will go away when I’m recovered from anxiety however it’s not gone. I’m scared it will get worse over time and stop me doing stuff or spread around my body, anyone had this? (I also get a weakness sensation too in my arms and forarms like I’m not very strong)

Manchmal kann dies eine Nebenwirkung sein. Außerdem möchte ich Sie beruhigen, indem ich sage, dass Handzittern bei Angst sehr häufig ist. Und auch wenn Sie denken, dass Ihre Angst wegen des Citaloprams besser ist, glaube ich, dass dieses Problem Ihnen etwas mehr Angst bereitet. Mein Rat ist, sich selbst zu beruhigen, indem Sie wiederholen, was der Arzt Ihnen gesagt hat - dass es nichts Ernsthafteres ist. Außerdem sind Sie erst seit einem Monat in der Medikation - manchmal kann es 6-8 Wochen dauern, bis die volle Wirkung einsetzt. Also halten Sie einfach durch. Dieses Problem sollte verschwinden!!

Hi Brianna, the tremors started in Janruary originally in my thumbs and now seems to be my hands and can sort of feel it in my wrists too. I worry it’s got worse and is something progressive which scares me not particularly the tremor itself. I’ve only been on citalopram for a month or so so I really doubt it’s anything to do with the medication. Thankyou for the advice!! Much appreciated x

Das Medikament kann Nebenwirkungen verursachen, besonders in den ersten Monaten. Ich nehme Prozac und hatte alle meine Nebenwirkungen innerhalb der ersten 2-3 Wochen. Zittern Sie mit beiden Händen oder nur mit einer? Gibt es in Ihrer Familie Erbkrankheiten?
Ich denke wirklich, dass es Ihre Angst ist, und Angst neigt dazu, uns das schlimmste Szenario denken zu lassen - warum Sie denken, dass es schlimmer wird und Sie sich nicht erholen werden. Wenn es Sie jedoch so sehr belastet, dass es Ihre Angst noch mehr erhöht - vielleicht ist es dann wert, es noch einmal mit Ihrem Arzt zu besprechen?
