Dificuldade para respirar! E falta de ar!!!

For the past 2 months I've experienced this new symptom which is dyspnea shortness of breath. I had numerous tests. Xray of the heart and lungs and came out normal. And then I had numerous blood tests & EKG. All normal. I've also seen a cardiologist and he performed a stress test & Echocardiogram. They came out normal. Healthy heart. And last test I had was a Pulmonary Function Test which my doctor says it came out normal. Now I'm running out of answers. I've been having this shortness of breath a little over 2 months its really frustrating and scary. Feeling always the need to take deep breathing and yet I don't feel like my lungs are getting enough oxygen . I could really use some advice here. Doctors think its GAD but I think they may be missing something

I'm 25 years old no asthma problems or anemic.

Meds are

Propranolol 20mg

Celexa 40mg

Albuterol inhaler

Montalukast 10mg

Any advice is greatly appreciated . Thanks!

Eu sempre bocejo também, eu tento me distrair pois ajuda

I have been experiencing the exact same thing as you for about 5 weeks now! Short breath, difficulty taking a deep breath, it feels like my lungs dont expand really weird sensation almost as if it was asleep. Had the same test done and is all normal. What seems to help sometimes is raising my arms above my head then i take a deep breath. I too want to yawn but i cant. Its really weird. It seems to get worse when i focus on it. Slowing down my breathing works too.

I know this sounds weird but when I feel like I can't breath or take a full breath I press down on the opening of my stomach I press in and down and this helps me.

Hope this helps

Not weird at all, i actually also do that too. I actually hug myself so as to tighten my chest and that helps too. Doing child pose too!

It does seem to help a lot especially whenever I exercise or I'm at work but once I'm to a calm state I start having the same symptoms of shortness of breath. I'm currently going through group therapy

Hi Luis I'm very sorry you're going through the same symptoms but they are very similar as mine so I could give you some suggestions consult to your doctor to do a pulmonary function test to make sure there's nothing wrong with your lungs once that is diagnosed and the results are negative then it gives you peace of mind it's just anxiety..

Sounds like a good technique but my doctor also told me about Dr Luann Helms Breathing Excercises on YouTube she has some very good techniques on breathing exercises and it gives you a lot of relief it has helped me out a lot tremendously as well as drinking black coffee

I had the same problem. I consulted with a doctor with west and east medical background. He is MD who also understand Chinese Medicine.  He can do  acupuncture. He advised me to drink 4-5 dried Chrysanthemum Flower every day. You can steep the same flower 3-4 times and drink it on the same day.  The tea is to calm your nerve.  I felt so good the first day I tried. So far, I have not had air hunger.

He said if that does not work, then he will try acupuncture weekly for 3-4 week.

Do you suffer from anxiety?? Millions of people who do also have severe shortness of breath. Have you ever listen to the short audio on proper breathing technique? It’s excellent and has really helped me a lot.   Most people are not breathing properly and don’t get oxygenated like they could be.

Go to YouTube and search for “

mindfulness breathing guided meditation 10 minutes“ this helps you get better control over your breathing and anxiety.

There are many meditations on YouTube for this plus anxiety, depression, sleep, etc.

I lay down with my earbuds and listen every day and I’m in way better control over my breathing and anxiety now.

I also got some counseling for my anxiety and started exercising and eating better. I hope you feel better soon ❤️❤️❤️

Hey SaberWolf, This air hunger you are experiencing is a side effect of anxiety. I myself get this problem too. I know its scary. Telling myself it was anxiety just wasnt cutting it. Too cut the story short i Started taking MAGNESIUM supplents, as well as FISH OIL and VITAMIN D. Taking all of these supplements with food cured my air hunger. Magnesium helpts the muscled to relax, vitamin D is useful for healty hear function. Take thes supplements and you will feel better in a few days. Trust me, this is what I did, 27 years old.

Greg44233,

Thanks for the feedback.

I no longer have this problem after drinking Chrysanthemum Flower daily.

I had been taking VitD and Fish Oil for few years when I had that problem.

Sounds like hyperventilation syndrome. I tend to get this when my nose is stuffed up. When you feel it coming on, try to breath through your nose rather than your mouth. When my nose is stuffed up during allergies, I use Vicks Sinex. Also helps to distract yourself. I would notice I didn't have it when I was talking to people, watching a movie, etc. That's because I was distracted from thinking about it.

You might also want to have your iron levels checked. Low iron can cause it, too.

Why did the dr put you on Propranolol 20mg if you have no heart or BP problems? Just curious.

I have felt the same. I think your problem is just deficient of vitamin 1. Get a good nutritionist and do blood exams to check if you are deficient of it. 😉👍

Propanolol is prescribed off-label for social anxiety symptoms

I'm 21 and have had this problem since July 2017, but I have yet to find an answer... normal PFT, blood tests, EKG, ECG, chest x-ray... I will be trying the magnesium/vitamin D/fish oil supplmentation and chrysanthemum tea. Please let me know if you find anything that helps!

I feel just like this and I know I’m too young to have it.. I’m even younger then 13.. I don’t know what to do. Even my doctor said everything is normal. Maybe a virus is in the air or maybe I just think about it too much.. my doctor said it might be anxiety
