Hi, a few years ago the ceiling outside of my room collapsed and my parents got a friend of theirs to clean it up and repair the damage. The ceiling in another room started to crumble in a corner around the same time and they've just hoovered up the dust every year. I recently tested took a sample of the ceiling (Artex) and sent it for testing. It came back saying that it contains white asbestos, Chrysotile and this has been used in every room of the house. I've told my parents but they said I was crazy for worrying and that white asbestos isn't dangerous even though I told them the risks. The guy who Artexed our ceiling even died of asbestos cancer. I'm just not sure what to do, I've sat in a chair covered in the dust and my siblings have played in it. I've said that I want someone to come and deal with it professionally but they laughed and said I was overreacting. Should my doctor be informed of my exposure or am I overreacting?
