Hi, I've recently had blood tests and my cholesterol results were a mixed bag. GP wants to put me on statins but I'm not sure about this since I am a heavy drinker and have read that the two really don't go. I am trying to give up I should add. I would really like to understand more about my results though, would anyone in the know be able to comment on them? Thanks. Triglycerides - 1.8mml (normal) Cholesterol - 9.3 mml (very high) LDL - 6.3 mml (very high) HDL - 2.17 mml (optimal) Non HDL - 7.13 (out of range high) Tri/HDL ratio - 0.83:1 (optimal) HDL/Total Chol - 23% (normal)
