Sinus problems with anxiety

Does anyone else get sinus problems with their anxiety and mucus?? Like a runny nose and feels like mucus in my throat, anyone else get it

HI Rachel,

I used to get a feeling like mucus in my throat.  My doctor told me it was down to stress.

You should maybe see your gp if you are worried but i think it can be smpytom of anxiety/stress.

Yes!!!! My sinuses have been bad since my anxiety has been playing up

Hey and yes I've been to see my gp and she said I'm fine there's nothing wrong with my sinuses so I think it's deffo stress x

yes i get this, quite a lot - its horrible!

that is your body ridding itself of waste and nothing to do with anxiety.  Sinus problems are due to infections.

excess mucas yes is certainly a by product of anxiety - infections are not no, but Rachel was asking about mucas and not infections.

one could also argue that when we are stressed we are much more likely to pick up an infection, which can relate infections to anxiety

I've been to my doctor and I've no sign of infection

indeed, i didnt either. i actually went so far as to get a camera down my nose and throat at the hospital as i felt i was always congested and had a lump in the throat. nothing there at all - all anxiety

Yes Rachel I do I have had a lot of sinus problems which causes earache and headaches.  My sister who sufferes from anxiety also gets sinus problems.

Yeah it's so strange how anxiety can cause all this, anxiety is like an illness in itself

I just recently got the same problem. I was on the bus and it felt like my nose was bleeding but it wasn't, it was just my nose running also soreness around the nostril area and constant blocked, stuffy nose.

Yeah that's exactly how I feel aswell it's horrible

hi Rachel, sinus problems can  due to infections or its just anxiety! if your docotor said its not infection then probably its just anxiety !! if you r not sure and this bothering u alot check second opinion if you can ! but sinus problems its common too with anxiety ! i read that anxiety has 100 symptoms but i think it has 1 milion symptom :p

I have same problems thought it was due to medication   pregabalin, I also have sneezing and slight nose bleed which can last up to 30 mins plus , def not have cold.  rosie. xx

Yes, I too have sinus problems, and since being on Venlaflaxin it's worse.

Im sure I read somewhere that some meds for anxiety can cause sinus probs.

I to have this problem funny nose sometimes then congested mild ear ache lots of mucus in throat but im also getting neck and shoulder pain and head ache.
