Sitting on a rock?

Hey there hipsterz! I think we have covered this before. I started noticing that, well right now I can only sit on the wheelchair, that on the operated hip on that side of buttock I feel like I'm sitting on something. It's uncomfortable and it kind of just started. Is this normal for us hippies and will it go away? Any solutions or advice on what to do about it?

I had the same problem. After surgery I had no bottom it simply disappeared. Used foam cushions on everything and lay flat taking the pressure off the area helped.

Continue exercises especially the butt squeezes.

IT takes a few months to get all he muscles back in shape. Water exercises is great & less pain and resistance from water helps build muscle.

Another hint drink protein shakes always helps.

Thanks for the tips. I kind of been slacking on the butt squeezes....it's a lil uncomfortable when I do them but I guess like everything els it too shall pass.

Yes they are at first. They are the most important exercise of them all. Strengthens core muscles, back and the muscles down the leg wrap around the knee.

i do them every day . It just a habit now over the years. Have had two thr and one revision.

so got lots of practice. It will get better soon.

Hi linda, I have the same problem it sometimes feels as though I am walking around with the leather sofa still attached to my bum lol, its all the swelling and nerves I think , I hope you are feeling better soon , I am trying to see the bright side instead of my back side , im sure we will get better soon love and huggies .

Thank you Tina!! I know looking at bright side is better, but some days a cloud just envelopes you and you feel like "oh man now what!" That's y I'm glad I can come on here and vent and get tips and advice and feel the love from you all as we all go through this!! Hugs, πŸ€—πŸ€—. LD

Yep, I had the 'sitting on a golf ball' after my op, and after the revision, (and occasionally now as I lost so much weight, my rear-end muscles are much smaller now).

Thank you so very much Graham! It feels like I can't catch a break!! But appreciate all the advice, tips and well wishes! This is truly an awesome forum! Happy Labor Day! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

I have osteoarthritis, and have not had a hip replacement, but I do have the sensation of sitting on a rock. Actually it often starts out as a small marble, and as the day goes on grows until I feel like I am sitting on a jagged rock the size of a tennis ball.

When I saw an arthritis specialist he said people feel the pain differently...my brain attempts to interpret the pain, and feels a rock..someone else will feel something totally different.

How interesting....well I hope this goes away! Thank you! LD

it does go away  sometimes it returns for a short while.
