I had my ablation on the 20th April and had 2 weeks off work. For those first two weeks I had no skipped beats or anything. I went back to work last Monday and since then I have got them constantly even when I am relaxing and not exerting myself.
I rang my doctor and am now taking my beta blocker in the morning but it isn't improving. Did anyone else have these symptoms? I know it's only been just over 3 weeks but to go through all that and now still having issues is really depressing
Oh god it's awful isn't it I guess it's a good thing it doesn't go into an episode but it's just getting me down. Do you think it's because the heart is still healing?
Ich nehme keine SVT-Medikamente ein, bin mir aber sicher, dass nichts passieren wird. (d. h. keine weiteren SVT-Attacken). Es ist zwar ein seltsames Gefühl, aber ich denke, es liegt daran, dass das Herz heilt. Mein Arzt hat mir gesagt, dass es geheilt ist, also nehme ich ihn beim Wort. I had lots of heart jitters, flutters and a few 'thumps' for the first month or so after my ablation. Felt just like SVT was about to kick in but, 5 years later, it never did.
My best guess is that its a mixture of ongoing healing and the acute sensitivity that all SVT folk have to any change in heart patterns.
I still get what feel like skipped beats and flutters now and again but don't care because I know that SVT wont start
I'm a bit surprised your GP put you back on betablockers.
Do you have a follow-up appointment with the Cardio people?
Ich hatte genau dasselbe! Ich war sehr frustriert und enttäuscht, dass ich immer noch Herzrasen hatte - ehrlich gesagt alle Symptome, die ich vor meiner Ablation hatte. Aber ich habe mit meinem Arzt gesprochen und etwas recherchiert und die ersten 3 Monate nach einer Ablation werden als Blanking-Periode bezeichnet. Das liegt daran, dass Ihr Herz durch das Verfahren entzündet ist und heilen muss. Es dauert etwa 12 bis 14 Wochen, bis Ihr Herz nach der Ablation vollständig geheilt ist. Wenn Sie nach drei Monaten bis dreieinhalb Monaten immer noch Symptome haben, würde ich vorschlagen, dass Sie noch einmal hingehen und vielleicht eine Überwachung verlangen und sicherstellen, dass sie die Ablation am richtigen Ort durchgeführt haben. Aber ja, die nächsten Wochen könnten für Sie ziemlich schwierig sein. Ich habe allerdings auch eine gute Nachricht - nach 5 Wochen begann ich, längere Perioden ohne Symptome zu erleben. Ich hatte tatsächlich ein paar schlechte Tage in letzter Zeit und bin jetzt bei der 8-Wochen-Marke seit meiner Ablation. Aber es wird besser. Halten Sie einfach durch!
Es dauert mindestens sechs Monate, um zu heilen, und während des Heilungsprozesses bekommt man viele ektope Herde. Tatsächlich habe ich mehr davon als je zuvor. Ich hatte bereits drei Ablationen.
I know how you feel I had my ablation yesterday for svt my heart was jumping out my chest told doctor about the palpitations he said svt is gone heart is in rhythm he don't know why he didn't say give time to heal it will go away said to stop beta blocker I told nurse to tell him I want to take it still hope it stops I wish you and everyone on here luck I hope we all get better
Hi there, just wonder how you are going? I had my Ablation 2.5 weeks ago and a few days ago the skipped beats/ palpitations started. It isn't pleasant and I'm glad I found this forum. Hoping that it goes away soon as I can't really do much, and it's making me anxious as I'm worried about a shock coming on.
Ich hatte dieselben Symptome. Wenn der Arzt es Ihnen nicht gesagt hat, braucht das Herz 3 Monate, um sich nach einer Ablation zu erholen. Sie sollten weniger und weniger werden und schließlich aufhören. Bis sich das Herz erholt hat, könnten Sie diese Episoden haben. Geben Sie es etwas Zeit.
Thank you Linda. Doc did tell me it takes 3 months to heal, I thought that was my septal scarring/healing. He didn't mention the heart palps and skipping. Thank you for replying. Makes me feel better knowing it's expected.
Mein Arzt hat mir das auch nicht gesagt. Ich habe das Büro angerufen und wurde damals informiert, dass es 3 Monate dauert und Sie möglicherweise Episoden haben könnten, bis das Herz geheilt ist. Ich hatte auch einige Monate Atemnot und fühlte mich, als wäre meine Brust voll. Alles Teil des Heilungsprozesses.
Ich hatte meine Ablation vor einem Jahr im Oktober. Als sie die Ablation durchgeführt haben, fanden sie vier weitere abnormale Rhythmen, sodass ich mein Leben lang Medikamente einnehmen muss. Aber sie HABEN meine SVT behoben. Es ist selten, so viele abnormale Rhythmen zu finden. Ich nahm ein Medikament, das bei mir nicht besonders gut wirkte, aber jetzt nehme ich seit sechs Monaten Rythmol und das scheint gut zu funktionieren.
HI all, I had my ablation done three months ago. Thing are good other then minor palpitations . I was taken off all heart Meds but had to go back to taking 50 mil of atenolol as my heart beat went from 65 a min to 95 when I stopped taking the pill . I was hoping to be free of the bata blocker but I can live with it . I've had no a fib since my ablation and the specialist says everything is good . I do like to have a few beers but with that comes extra palpitations. But after a day the palpitations are gone and I don't have the feeling of my heart going into Afib .. I exercise with no issue .. So the best thing to do is get to know what effects your beat .. Take care
Hi, I had some mild palpitations during the first few weeks of recovery . I still get the odd palpitations but nothing alarming . I'm a lot better them I was prior to the ablation
