Can anyone sleep on their left side without causing the afib to act up? I have a pacemaker on right side now and leads get in the way of laying on right side.
I certainly struggle if I lay on my left with afib starting, or beginning to play up. it was certainly worse before my meds seem to have got it under some sort of control
my other big trigger is indigestion

I thought that pacemakers were fitted on the heart side of the body. What was the reason for putting it on your right ?
Ive had my pacemaker on my left side for about a year and a half. At first, I couldn't sleep on my left side but it seems now that I can without a problem, although I am a right side sleeper. who knows..
Yes, indigestion is the trigger for me when it stimulated my vagus nerve. Does your BP go up as well. Something set my digestion off after lunch and my BP went as high as 160/115. 157/129, 170/114 in the consecutive readings. By 5.30 it was down to 123/89. Last night before going to bed it was 113/76.

Hi Cantrell,I cannot sleep on my left side ..sometimes if I flip over in my sleep it wakes me up immediately I am a left side sleeper but not anymore.On very rare occasions it allows me to sleep on my left side but not very often. If I eat too much,don’t eat enough, eat too late wait too long between meals to eat or eat the wrong kind of foods like brussels sprouts I notice it brings on atrial fib it’s such a mystery on why although I’ve been reading a lot that it has to do with the stomach.
I put a soft pillow under arm pit to help, try that!!
