Have any of you guys tried the slim noodles/rice or pasta out?
It seems these noodles are made of a substance from Japan Glucomannan and have zero or little calories! Wow is that actually possible to cut out the bulk of carb calories? Just wonderd if anyone had tried or heard of them?
A friend just told me about them, but it seems they are a lot more expensive than regular noodles/rice and pasta.Darn it, I wish I had known about these before now!
I am up for giving them ago and will try to source them tomorrow :-) If they are any good hopefull its possible to bulk buy!!!
Hi daisy Holland and Barrat sell them i read a review ages ago on The Daily Mail/magazinesand they said they were vile I have never tried them myself though but you might like them x
Hiya. I have tried them. They are NOTHING like pasta rice or noodles lol. They are like a chewy plastic but very low calorie. If you cover them in sauce and want to bulk the meal out it's ok bit they have no taste what so ever.
Holland and Barrett sell them I brought them when they do the buy one get another for 1p offer
Guess its a bit like tofu? maybe its something that has not taste and you have to give it some flavour! I am going to try them, just to see if I can get along with them.
Desperate times calls for desperate measures! ha! ha!
i really do like it even on it's own! It can be pretty tasteless but i always think you should try something new that way at least you can say you tried!
Lol...Chewy plastic huh? but chewy plastic with little calories! :-) Is it kinda simlar to squid texture?
I have had to learn to drink soya, that taste like drinking plastic, thinking I should at least give eating plastic a go!
I used to chew the end of my pen in University I might end up partial to a bit of plastic on my plate, especially if its got little calories in it! I tried Holland and Barrets Soya chedder style cheese, oh my gosh was it rank! I took it back because I thought it was off, to be told it supposed to taste rank!
Unfortunately I am now gluten/lactose/wheat intolarant in my old age and a few other things! lol
Lol oh bless ya. I thought they were the answer but no!! The noodles are the worst and pasta prob the best as in texture. Rinse really well as the stuff they are packed in smells of fish! Am I selling it to you lol.
Yeah I tried the rice noodles and pasta. The noodles are disgusting the rice is noodles chopped into tiny bits like chewy elastic bands. 😖the pasta is prob the best out of all of them but still not nice.
They come packed in a weird liquid that stinks of fish too so gotta rinse well.
They are not the best as really weird texture and very chewy 😳
Give them ago you might like them, haven't found anyone yet who has tho lol.
Yes love the nut milks, I have been making my own rice, almond and soya milk for a wee while now :-) They are dead easy to make, but I have yet to try making hazelnut, only purchased that one so far! Make my own yogurt too.
I did try the cow juice that has had the lactose taken out, but I am so used to the soya now that I dont bother. Have to say none of my friends are keen on soya, so I always keep a jar of Coffemate in.
Think I will at least try that fake rice just the once, it might be useful to bump up ordinary rice or pasta with (50/50) Flippin heck Britney, the things you have to try to loose weight & be beautiful huh! lol
I am going to be such a bloody show off when I get back into a 12!!! yeah baby! own it! work it! Untill then can you please show off for me with all those snazy shoes you wear!
You are organised Daisy. I always mean to do my own but it's quicker to get at Sainsbury's well that's my excuse anyway! its on offer £1 atm
I used to love Coffeemate and carnation i am not surprised i was so big..
Oh god yeah i know i bet men never do all this carp! try the pasta at least you can say you tried!
You will get there and the time will fly. My OH said i don't need anymore shoes erm need, want, whatever i will continue to buy them i just wish they were cheaper then i could jusiify the ones i don't actually wear!
Ok dispite your attempts to warn me, I ended up buying some of the slim rice/pasta, tried the rice this afternoon at the office.
What a weird substance indeed, like little bits of soft plastic that pop in your mouth. I did rinse it well and made sure to hold my breath when I opened the inner packet, but even after rinsing several times I could still smell a fishy like odour :-(
I was thinking maybe the rice should be left to soak out the smell and would be better in low fat yogurt with some fruit, did you ever try it as a dessert of some kind?
In have yet to try the pasta, have to wait until I have recovered from the rice!
