Son has bipolar how do I describe following to psychiatrist

Son is 24 also has Severe Autism and is non verbal and Epileptic.Today son had an absence in a cafe then around 45 mins later lost the plot in a busy high street directing his aggression at my hubby.Son went red in face and shook uncontrollably with rage shrieking and hissing throughout and trying to lash out.I had to give 5mg of Diazapam to calm him down. His uncopoerativeness worsened and his rage and intensity of violent movement increased.Took me making my hubby disappear and me talking him down to calm the situation.I am new to this and his behaviour was so frightening it terrified his two younger siblings. Also he has started to snore heavily since given Lamotrigrine for his Epilepsy!Any help and advice really needed and appreciated please

First of all, big (((hugs))) to you. I would describe it in exactly the way you have here. I have two autistic children and know only too well just how lost and upset you can feel when trying to get help. Have you tried visiting the national Autistic Society website? They have a forum that may be able to give you support as well. Good luck.x

Thank you arwen1972 your reply is much appreciated from a now sleep deprived carer. social services suck and the psychiatrist said my sons behaviour is down to his low fat diet.Damned if I do and was damned if I do not follow healthy eating!!

So in other words, if you let him eat high fat rubbish, he will be easier to cope with? What a lot of stuff and nonsense! Somebody gave my youngest a can of energy drink at school (which of course he drank) and he was bouncing off the walls and throwing things round his bedroom all night. We can't win can we?

Have you asked for a second opinion? You are entitled to. I did with my youngest boy and eventually got the diagnosis and help he needed.

I would go to the National Autistic Society website, and if you are in England, there will also be advice on the MIND website.x
