Sore painful clitorus

Hi everyone I am new to this site , so please bear with me

I have had LS for 4 years and have just had a bad flare up with stress  My Clitorus is so red ,swollen  and itchy and it really hurts to pee

have started back on steroids  and see Gyno tomorrow

anyone else have this problem ? So Anxious and worried

Thanks Guys 😞

I've just had similar but not the' hurts to pee '. My specialist has me doing salt baths which seem to work and then a good coating of clob. Good luck. Let me know the outcome - may need some future reference

Thankyou Deb will do

I had similar problems a couple months ago, and I fear it is flaring up again. I believe what I had was a pseudo smegmatic cyst. Watch doctor Goldstein's lecture linked somewhere on this site; he talks about it. My doctor thought it was just an abscess. I don't know. I took antibiotics for 10 days and then it cleared up. I had itching, soreness, redness, and a lump the size of a pea right near my clitoris. Good luck.

Even having a shower when water touchs it ouch!  Really stinging feeling

cant wait to see gyno

Hi Marion. The sting is because the water is not neutral enough. Add some salt to water to wash there and that should stop the stinging on the raw area.

Quite a lot of us are adding bicarbonate of Soda to warm water and washing every time i go to toilet to wash all traces of bowel motion and urine from our skin. I find this very soothing and pat dry after with a soft towel.

Good luck with your Dr tomorrow.

Wilma.

Flare ups are no fun.

The only answer I have at this moment is:

Try a baking soda bath. (one third to half a cup in the water will do)  Sit in it as long as the water is comfortable in temperature.  If nothing else, it is soothing.  After the bath cover royally with coconut oil.

Also you may need to use some sort of barrier so the urine does not touch the skin when actually urinating.  Vasaline, coconut oil, emu oil olive oil. Does not matter what you use but make sure you do use it. Stop wearing close knickers or slacks and go comando style to allow air to circulate and encourage the area to stay clean and moisturisedfrom your oil of choice.

Thank you Wilma will give it a try x

Thank you Hanny x

Here's a discussion from awhile back on the pseudocystic smegma abscess. I had one. Ouch!

Hi  If you are not allergic to non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs you may find  your inflammed areas less painful, (ie the aspirin, ibrufen, paracetamol type  over the counter medicines) Use them four  or six hourly for a day and see if that helps a bit - but the usual caution must be taken because long term use of the these drugs can cause severe indigestion, or even a bleed.

Remember that strong pee is much more irritating than dilute pee - so drink  A LOT of water

The body is saline (salty) and to imitate that the proportions are 1 teaspoon of salt to 1 pint of water

Cranberries; whether juice or dry or fresh, are very useful if the urine is concentrated or infected. the advice the others have given can help such a lot too wash in aqueous ointment NO smellies anywhere near the area and try and use non bleached loo roll and NO bleach or biological washing powders

You mentioned stress If you can do try some of the meditation techniques- I confess i am not good at sitting still for long enough to make it happen for me, but i know several on this site found it has helped them enourmously to deal with the stressors in life

I hope things are improving for you Good luck

Thankyou Morrell , found that interesting ,having never had cuts on clit before I do worry about cancer  but that's me

Thankyou forgot to mention I have just been diagnosed with Diabetes  so not sure if that has had something to do with this

Several people here have mentioned that cutting down on the sugar content in their diets has helped emormously...so may be the 2 could be connected?

Type 1 or Type 2?

Do you have to be strict with your diet now?

Oh yes , very much so , but was only diagnosed in July this year  so don't really know if Lichen has been affected  just that tears seem to take longer to heal

Sorry to hear that Marion.  What could be tried to stimulate the healing with this extra complication, I wonder. Anyone?

Do you already use the baking soda rinse?

Sadly poor healing is one of the effects of diabetes. I imagine you don't smoke - because if you do that will inhibit the healing process- nicotine makes small blood vessels go into spasm and stop the  Good cells from doing their stuff.

When i went to the chemist the other day to get some cold sore anti virus cream she told me to bump up my vitamins to boost my immune system. Tis cold and winter in the UK

Couldn't think of it - bumping up the immune system,  extra vitamines. Thanks Sue.

Thank you for that Sue I didnt know that , I take vitamin D every day

Going into summer here in AUS  and no not a smoker   do like a glass of winw socially
