sore red lumps on legs, gp cant figure it out please help

everything seemed to begin with me getting tonsilitis. my dr. prescribed penicillin which in a couple days i began getting red, swollen, circular, warm lumps on the bottom of my legs some around 5-10cms

went back to the dr. who believed it was just an allergic reaction to penicillin so swapped antibiotics and said for me to take anti histamines.

a couple more days passed and nothing was getting better, infact worse

lumps were getting more and more sore, found it hard to walk, and throat didnt feel better at all.

began getting a fever of 39.1 degrees for a couple days after

developed what i thought was ulcers in my mouth but dr said was coldsores on my touge and inside of my lip which are so painful havent ate in days

blood test dr took came back with nothing

the lumps todays probably 3 weeks on have started to peel

i would really like some ideas, im in so much pain!

I'm so sorry for you Claudia, have a look at Dermnet NZ

Has your GP referred you to a Dermatologist?  Or to the ENT dept.?

Don't give up, keep nagging your doctor!

You could also try going to your Dentist to see if s/he comes up with anything different.

a lot of people are alergic to penaciln it sounds like you have had a bad reaction to me . not a medical person but you didnt have it before only after taking it .

i may be way off here....but a while back i watched a bunch of programees from medical mysteries and most of them all had one thing in common....

streptococcus virus.

These patients had either had a sore throat or tonsil etc and when it cleared they assumed they were fine...until their various illnesses started to surface which baffled doctors. One of the girls in the show had large red lumps appearing all over her body and she experienced flu like symptoms....Only once a blood test was done to determine if strep was present, were they able to treat her correctly....

Its just a shot in the dark here, but you did say you had tonsilitis???

mention this to your doctor and let them do a thorough testing... good luck and i wish you the best
