started bleeding after year without period , age 53

I am really worried started period after year without, went to gp and have to go for ultrasound, and blood tests, really scared it's something serious I am 53, thought they had stopped for good,

Oh everybody is so different with this.  You'll be just fine.  You are getting it checked so you'll be at ease soon.  <3

Thank you, hospital just rang and have got scan in the morning, I just always think the worst which doesn't help at all!!

I had this!!!

Don't worry unless you have had cysts and fibroids and bad tummy cramps!

I had a show twice do far this year,

As long as you are well and not suffering,

It's probably nothing..

I had a ultra scan back this year in April.

Do not worry. The results were all clear.

The person that scans you will tell you anyway. And the results will be sent to your GP. The man said to me it was something that can't be explained. It's just the last part of me just getting rid of what's left, to come out. Other than that I'm fine. 😊

Worry is like rocking in a rocking chair.  We rock but don't get anywhere.  Think positive and you wil feel better smile

Thanks for your reassurance, I haven't had any cysts or fibroids, glad your results were fine, was feeling fine until this morning when I started bleeding, I do suffer with bad anxiety too which doesn't help, I do hate this menopause and how it effects me,

Hi Susan

dont worry hun, but do mention to the doctor... I have been in peri for 10 years, and will be one year next month no periods.. ( assumed full meno after 12 months no period) but thats a guess an average only... not set in stone, every lady different and some other ladies have said they have had the odd period after 12 months, so dont worry about it.. it does happen, keep a diary, etc, and mention to the doc... if your on HRT maybe that needs looking at again, or its just a blip.. Jay xx

hi susan

forgot to say.. if you dont already... try some vit B6 ... 150mg a day.. if your feeling blue and no energy etc

Hi jay, I am new to this site, but your comments have helped me already, it's nice to know I am not alone with this, thanks, ladies xx

Hi Susan

yes give it a try.. it changes my whole life... something sooo simple,,

i have 150mg daily.. i dont take HRT just other naturals..

but this lifted a very heavy fog and i never felt better..

useful snippet iff web for you..

Menopause Mood Swings & Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 may alleviate menopausal mood swings.

During menopause, mood swings are inevitable with estrogen fluctuations as the body ends its reproductive years.

Vitamin B6 may be one answer to alleviating increased agitation, depression and anger. B vitamins are responsible for mood stabilization by controlling hormone production in the brain and regulating hormone levels. B6 declines as menopause sets in and mood swings become evident. Increasing this vitamin may give women the added boost they need to enjoy the golden years with a better mindset.

For women who suffer with brain fog, and memory issues in perimenopause, low levels of B6 could be part of the problem.

Depression, confusion, and an inability to concentrate are all associated with B6 deficiency. Vertigo, dizziness, and heart palpitations are also common complaints from women going through perimenopause.

All of these symptoms have been associated with (among other things) a B12 deficiency.

Vitamin B6 can also help with stubborn weight gain in perimenopause. It is key in the breakdown and utilization of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in our diet, and is necessary for a healthy metabolism - both which can help manage weight.

supplements of ***100mg to 300mg per day ... depending on severity

Hi jay, thanks for the information, very useful, I have never fancied hrt especially with all the side effects it can have so vitamins are definitely worth a try, I am already on various meds for depression and anxiety but they don't seem to help anymore either, well I am having my ultrasound in the morning so fingers crossed it's nothing serious,

Hi Susan

i am sure you will be fine, and the ultra sound will reassure you of that..

me too never taken HRT..

but try the B6 (150mg daily) lifted my blues, anxiety, aches, tearfulness etc etc in a week.. and other ladies on here say it has helped them too after trying it..

i also take other things..

menapol plus good off amazon too take 2 daily with other things..

Calcium and Vit D for bones health ( Natecal)

like you i want natural, get it done with and know never have the peri symptoms again... feel better at 50 😃 and put it behind me.. let my body do what nature intends without pushing hormones in and confusing matters and then going through it all again ... no way.. 😃

good luck susan... .. feel positive .. all will be fine ... always good to get checked.. well done ..  Jay xx

Greetings Jay out spending money honey?  Good for you.  smile. But I think the pool boy would have been more fun smile

I feel crappy today.  Vertigo/dizziness came but I didn't barfly so the vitamins must be doing good.  There may be done hope here.  So I will continue and see how tomorrow goes.  <3

Thanks very much Jay will keep you posted :-) xx

susan81669, that happened to a friend of mine. She thought she was done after not having a period for a year and then suddenly she got it. I don't think anything was wrong though. I haven't hit that point yet where I've gone a year. This past year I have skipped a few months and my periods are always late now but otherwise still getting it.

Hi Dottie

oh sorry your feeling the vertigo... ummmm not good..

but... the B6 does take a few days to kick in ....

hahahaha pool boy... no thanks ... means waiting in for someone all the time and your peace is shattered.. plus i am a woman and do the job properly 😃😃😃 I am paranoid about chlorine and PH so like to do all that myself, or it makes my lady bits poorly 😏 have a good day Dottie..  Jay xx

Hey JJ,  it will be over soon and they say when you get past this stage you feel excellent.  So there is hope!  At least I am not vomitting anymore...just nausea.  I was running out of plastic bags. hehe
