Still very tired

6 weeks post TAH. (and a couple of days) and i am still weak and tired. I have seen a few others on here that have said the said the same thing. Seems like a long time to feel this way. Had my final dr appt and im cleared to do what ever i am comfertable doing. Forget to mention how tired i feel.

I found the extreme tiredness more surprising than anything else, I wasn't prepared for it at all, especially as otherwise I felt ok by 6 weeks.

I think it lasted about 9 or 10 weeks.

By lunch time every day I was fit for bed again.

I hope you feel better soon.

Yes, it's been 8 or 9 weeks and I agree.

Wow! I’m sorry to hear that and I do hope you feel better soon!

I have my surgery in 60 hours (LAVH with great chance it will turn into TAH). I have been ‘approved ‘ for 6 weeks paid leave (down from the 8 requested but up from the 2 weeks initially authorized).

I have already been told by family members that I better not think about just lying around and sleeping all day. And that just standing at the kitchen sink (doing dishes) can’t be considered the restricted housework. I guess implying I better still do my house ‘work’ even though I’m off from ‘work’ Work. I already hired a cleaning service to clean the whole house tomorrow and then at least twice while I’m recovering (I’d like to recover in a ‘clean’ environment).

The exhaustion is one of the things I’m worrying about as well.  I had two surgeries in March and they wiped me out.  Thus the preventative measures.  And they were both ‘minor’ compared to the Surgery on Wednesday.

I hope you have an understanding family and work environment. I am hoping to get a DR’s note for paid ‘nap time’ during work.  Think that will get approved?

Good luck with the rest of your recovery.

Sorry to hear you feel that way. I myself am three months in and feel tremendously fatigue tired exhausted I try to go into the same routine and schedule as I did before surgery that’s impossible I get up at six in the morning but the time to or 3 o’clock gets here I’m ready for bed. Went to the doctor yesterday to get some blood work I do not have my ovaries or uterus . Is anyone out there with her estrogen low? Mine was at five which he said it was extremely low is anyone out there taking bio t shots??

Thank you for the update.  Turns out my thyroid meds are too high which can cause the tiredness, lightheadness and frequent bowel movements that i have been experiencing. What makes me think  it is still post surgery issues is i have been on the lower dose for 3 weeks now and those problems should be resolved by now.  Today is 10 weeks post full hysterectomy. Maybe i should inquire about hormones also.  I dont see the Dr. Until Aug.
