I've only been on 10mg Cit since mid-November and had horrendous side effects to begin with. One side effect is weight gain which doesn't help my mood one bit! However, I've given it all a lot of thought and have come to the conclusion that I don't feel any better on the tablets but certainly don't feel as bad as I did before starting them, so I've decided to stop taking them. I've had no effects of sudden withdrawal so far, in fact I feel no different at all. Hopefully a few pounds will drop off too. Fingers crossed I've done the right thing! (Incidentally, one of the reasons I was taking it was work related stress, but also a relationship I wasn't happy in. The relationship has since ended and I'm going for a job interview tomorrow, so I'm on my way to happiness!)

Firstly good luck for tommorow I hope it works out for you. You didnt say when you stopped taking the tablets?I'd like to think you can just stop taking these pills but the majority of us have to come off them slowly because it can cause the same type of side effects as the ones you can get when you start taking them. You might be lucky as you are on the lowest dose and have only been on them for a short period of time, but generally it is not reccomended to just stop taking them. Nice to see you are feeling positive and I wish you a much happier future which hopefully will be without citalopram. 
oh I forgot to say when I was on Citalopram for over two and a half years I put on about an extra stone and a half. ive now been off the tabs for over a year and my weight has dropped back to where it was before I started. I dont have a sweet tooth and therfore I dont indulge in sugary foods so maybe thats helped too. Good luck with the weight loss. I am male and I thought it would just affect females but I got that wrong it affects both sexes with this drug.
Glad to hear that you have had a free from withdrawal side effects from Cit you have been lucky I am now on day 45 of stopping Cit and am now over the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. The last few days I am getting to feel almoast human again.
I hope you continue to remain without any symptoms and maybe with what you have said looking at a brighter future
