None of this was happening before my HA. I was put on 25mg metoprolol along with other heart meds. About 2 weeks in I was woken suddenly in early morning (4:) with my heart pounding out of my chest, heat spreading across the chest and into upper arms, pulse racing, sweating and extreme anxiety. I am on lorazepam for “generalized anxiety” for years, but never experienced a panic attack like this!! I told the cardiologist what was happening and he had me discontinue my meds except for Plavix and aspirin. I was on Zetia, Crestor, losartan, metoprolol. Doc told me to stop the metoprolol. was ok for a few days then the night time arousals began. IS THERE AN END TO THIS HELL??? I went to the ER several times and each time they told me they couldn’t find anything and I should get therapy (GRRRR). The last hospital stay had me there 4 days, had CT and MRI of head (normal), heart monitoring (nothing they could see). Had a cardiologist come in and told me to go back on metoprolol. A few days into it was experiencing EXTREME fatigue 24/7, and now the night time panics. I cut the pill in half to 12.5mg and still had the attacks. My other cardio dr said stop the metoprolol. It’s been 2 days and the attacks are absolute HELL. It has me thinking about UN-ALIVING MYSELF. IS THERE ANY HOPE THESE ATTACKS WILL STOP?? It’s pushing up my blood pressure (which wasn’t good in the first place) and I’m scared it will do further damage to my heart or give me a damn stroke. HELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP???
