suffering from extreme anxiety! Ruining my life!

Hi everyone,  I also suffer from severe health anxiety, I also think i have every cancer known to man.  I go  to google which I shouldn't do and it scares me even more.  I am getting married in 2 months and I an't even look forward to the wedding because i think i will be dead.  It is such a debillitating fear.  I have every symtom of a number of cancers, even though blood work came back normal.  I live in canada and I'm a 52 year old woman.  Hope to hear from some of you.

Are you receiving any treatment? Without medication or therapy I fear your root anxiety will persist. Deal with the anxiety and the rest will follow

Hi Cathy Hope this helps. I think because you are getting married in 8 weeks anxiety has decided to make you suffer and in doing so everything is out of proportion in your mind. Easier said than done I know but try and calm yourself a bit assure yourself that this will pass you are certainly not going to die you've been to gp had bloods done all is ok and if anything serious was wrong you would know for sure. Anxiety is not nice its real and a tricky customer. Loads of folk can relate to what you are going through so don't evr think its only you. Good luck with wedding and enjoy.

hi jmcg2014, i have been on 40mg paxil now for about 3 months, but doesn't seem to help.  I am going to see a counsellor next week.  Thanks for the reply, appreciate it so much!

thanks so much, yes the wedding certainly doesn't help, but i have had this anxiety for much longer, years really, everytime i get a pain i think the worst.  It truly is a hrrible feeling.  Nice to know I'm not alone.

Cathy I am the same can't deal with anything to do with illness always think of the worst possible outcome however anxiety does last forever it just ebbs and flows like the tide.

Hi Cathy, Sorry to hear you are suffering.  I too suffer from health anxiety hate hospitals and illness mine or family.  As you say the wedding does not help I remember before I got married years ago I suffered from digestive problems which went away after the wedding.  Please take the advice given to me on this forum and don't google symptoms.  It really just makes things worse and I should know I was always looking up everything and I don't any more.  As you say you have suffered from this for years but your blood tests are ok, so try and calm down not easy I know only too well.  You have your wedding to look forward to and I am sure you will have a lovely day.  All on this forum are dealing with their own anxieties so you are not alone.  Good luck and keep in touch on the forum

Hi bigmag, I understand how you feel.  Please know you are not alone.  We are all  here for you!!

Hi libralady, thanks for your reply.  I work in a hospital which makes i worse at times.  I have fears of going to Dr's and I hate the smell.  I have a dentist appt tommorow and I'm having anxiety about that too!  Some times it gets so exhausting, especially when most people don't understand and they look at you like your crazy.
