Hello ladies , i was wondering how any of you amazing survivors are coping with the struggles of surgical menopause without HRT. Almost 6 years for me and im still going through it. Interested to hear any other experiences.
Dear Foxy
Im four years post surgical menopause with no Hrt due to family history. Six months after the op i suffered terrible panic attacks and i think i have had the taste of most of the 66 symptoms! Feeling ok now but the odd symptom arrises still but doesnt seem as bad! How about you?
Hello and thank you for reply , the panic attacks i can relate too i still get them if im in a situation that involves anything medical , ie: going to the doctor for example , i need to take half a diazepam to get me through the experience otherwise i will pass out , all stems from being misdiagnosed for months , ive since changed surgeries . How are your joints ? ive been diagnosed with osteoarthritis which they say is lack of oestrogen , which may happen anyway not sure . Also do you sleep well ? thats another issue !! I have doctors on thursday to discuss a few things - dreading just walking through the door to be honest ! Also palpitations thats another thing - the list goes on , sorry !! So glad your getting there and feeling better , its damm hard work though thats for sure x
Dear Foxy
My joints in the beginning were quite bad, especially in the mornings but that has got better. I do suffer with sciatica which comes and goes!
I still get the odd panic, well i suffer abit with open spaces but that has always been a thing with me. I went through a stage of panicking at the shopping till, a sort of panic about not being able to get away but thankfully that is ok now. I still do get the odd palpitation but initially went through a bout of that, where it felt like the heart was banging about all over the place! That must be a hormone thing, as i remember having them when i had my period, some time before menopause.
I went through a stage of waking every hour and then it got better, but i can have stages where i might wake every few hours but not as bad as it was.
Hope all goes well with you at the doctors !
