I have been suffering from severe health anxiety and panic attacks. I started 20mg citalopram 4 weeks ago. GP suggested going for an eye test as citalopram can affect eyes. So off I went…
I had an OCT scan and optometrist said that one eye had a slightly blurred optic nerve and a referral would be put in place for a second opinion. I went to absolute pieces due to severe health anxiety. She then took me for another scan for a more in depth look and said I have a tilted disc in the affected eye and with being short sighted this could be the cause of the nerve appearing swollen.
I am absolutely terrified waiting to hear. Has anybody experienced anything similar and it all been OK? I am scared because it has never been noted on a previous eye test and I’ve convinced myself of all terrible things.
