A pílula para alívio de sintomas?

I am considering asking my doctor about using the pill to control symptoms of perimenopause. Anyone tied this and if so what was the result?

I am on the pill, and apart from controlling the bleeding, I don't tend to bleed at all during the breaks anymore, I still get lots of peri menopausal symptoms.

Hi Greenglass, I've been on the Pill for decades to control heavy bleeding and periods too close together. Now I am 52 and have been having perimenopausal symptoms for about 6 or 7 years. My doctor did say that my periods would stop even though I am on the Pill - is that what is happening to you? I've heard the year after you stop is the worst year for symptoms.

Hi Jennifer

I too have been on the pill since I was a teenager due to heavy periods, I have tried a couple of times to come off (apart from having children) and have had to go back on because of the pain and blood loss.

My periods started to go a bit crazy about 8 years ago, when I was 40, I would go 3 or 4 months without a withdrawal bleed. Apart from 1 or 2 days spotting I haven't had a bleed since December. I am continuing on the pill until I'm 50 when my gyno said I have to come off it. I still suffer with hot flashes and the night sweats, heartburn has been a real problem this last 12 months and anxiety. I'm seriously considering seeing a menopause specialist and trying natural hormones, as I don't relish the idea of things getting worse 😯

I was on the pill, and it was excellent for me. It got rid of all the perimenopausal symptoms. But it wasn't until I tried 2 different pills, that the right one was found. So it was trial and error until we got it right. Hope you find the right one. Good luck.
