Abit about myself just incase those who don’t know me. I have been suffering with anxiety for over 30 + years
I am 41 now. The newest symptom i have been getting from 3 years ago which it stopped and returned full force the last couple of months. I can hear my heart beating in my ear and head it is very clear and sounds like my heart beat. When this happens my ear plug up and i feel horrible head pressure like squeezing that i cannot not move. I feel like I’m going to loose consciousness. its a very scary feeling. Like I’m stuck in my body and can come out of it until i calm down. I have been taking clonazepam half of it when it happens and after 10 mins i start to feel a bit normal again. I am terrified that I have a brain tumor or brain cancer or anyerisum happening. Literally all those symptoms start happening at once. I literally try to find my purse take half a clonazepam and call someone to talk to and pace back in forth in my hallway until I feel a bit normal. 3 years ago I did go for test I had a CT Scan, MRI and MRA on my brain because of the Heart beating in my ear and got headaches from it. I saw 2 ENT, and Neurologist all normal. But for the life of me i cannot remember if it made me feel the way I do like I’m going to pass out and lose consciousness and blocked like I couldn’t walk straight or sit because of pressure. Please if anyone has experienced this please respond. I don’t know what to do. I am terrified.
maryann I know exactly what you’re talking about. I get that head pressure also and it’s an awful feeling. When you get that and hear your heart beating in your ear, it’s all related to anxiety. Adrenaline gets released in the heart pumps stronger and louder. The pressure causes your ear to feel blocked. I have heard that numerous times. All my testing was also normal. So it cannot be something really serious because it would’ve shown up on the scan.
Yes, anxiety and stress can definitely cause the symptoms! I am older than you in my 50s and I have had these symptoms plus a lot more for 30 to 40 years off and on .
what’s frustrating is that medical science has still not come up with a way to help people like us. Besides prescribing medication and getting counseling. And there are millions of people just like us.
The only thing that I can think of is that we have to take charge and do things to bring down our anxiety.
I purposefully make it a point to practice meditation once or twice a day, I get out and exercise no matter how I feel, stay very hydrated with water, do things that make me laugh and smile, pamper myself a little bit like with a massage or a nice warm bath, etc. I try not to focus on anything negative! Mental attitude is everything! even when I get the head pressure and other symptoms, I get more determined and try to stay strong. If I get down and allow it to get to me, I feel weaker and worse.
just know that you are going to be OK. You are experiencing severe anxiety symptoms just like I do. They’re not going to do you any harm and I know how frustrating it is. Feel free to private message me anytime.
