Toilet seat raiser

Hi, am pre-op and was wondering if your hospital will provide this for you or need to buy it? also what is the recommended hight? i found 2, 4 and 6 inch.  Thanks

Hi, the hospital will supply it and tell you what height you need as it depends on your leg length . Best wishes for the op.

Hi hospital will supply the ot came and fitted them for me all depends on your height you dont have to buy them

Yes, the hospital provide you with a toilet seat riser, also crutches and varies other gadgets that you may need.....the gadgets I had to buy but very reasonable!

The hospital supplied me with a toilet seat raiser after he had measured my legs  I needed it to be raised 4 inches. I could give it back after 6 weeks when I had had my post op appointment.  Good luck with yours.

I am also pre-op and was going to buy one in the meantimeso am hlglad that I've read these comments.

did you get a book were you had to put thing in hight your bed the chaire you sit in the toilet , tell the physio when they come to help you to walk with your cruchers

If you are in the UK and have the op under NHS they will provide anything you need. If you are having the op in a private hospital as an NHS patient you will have to arrange them yourself. I ordered a toilet raiser and a grabber from the Internet. You may also need a block to raise a chair that you sit on. Hope all goes well for you.

I have also been provided a perching stool and trolley arranged by the OT at pre assessment.

I was advised to use the raised seat but have to say that it was so impractical and difficult to use and discarded after one time !! After that I was very, very careful but comfortable !!!!!!!!!

Hospital should provide... but I never used one...

Hi

If you are in the UK the hospital will provide you with onoe {or two in my case} also with anything else you need. Sticks/crutches, perching stool, shoe horn, button hook, grabber, I'm sure there were other things but I just cant remember
