I think the answer is “How long is a piece of string”?
It varies considerably, but mainly hinges on your pre-operative fitness, state of mind (I’m particularly hardy), and a bit of luck thrown in.
I had THR in Oct 2015, then revision in Jan 2016 to try to put the ceramic into the place the s…d surgeon should have put it in the first place. He failed to move it 
In July 2018 the ceramic failed, and the shards ‘exploded’ into my muscles, and I had to have a specialist operation to clear it all out and re-fit most of the components with new ones.
Forty hours after this operation, I was up and climbing the stairs at hospital with the physios!
When I was let out of the hospital, on day five I walked (with crutches) a half mile to my surgery to book an appointment to have the stitches out, and the half mile back home. It took me an hour, But I Did It
A couple of weeks later I was allowed back to the gym and to play ‘sensible’ golf.
I could have sat down and rested, but that’s just not my style.
