Hi , I took out travel ins with Stay Sure after my op for a cruise in May , they include things like hips . Single trip cost me £18 .

Obviosly we don't know how good any ins is until we need it and then it's too late !

I got a quote from Go Compare for me & my partner to go to USA. Cheapest was £262! If anyone knows anywhere cheaper please let me know. As Mary says we don't know how good any of them are til we need them.

I think paying £85 extra isn't too bad.

Hi Brian, ongoing to have to contact my travel company as paid for the year and due to go on holiday at the end of may so 13weeks post op. Will have to pay extra too?

See if any other hippies respond to this? 😃

I didnt fly for about 6 months but my travel insurer thru the bank didn't charge any extra...suppose the longer the time since the op the lower the risk....as long as you dont do anything crazy you should be fine....paragliding and white water rafting may have to wait!!

Hi crissy, did you contact your insurance to tell you had had a THR ?

Brian

Yes I spoke to the actual insurers...think it was Aviva..thru Barclays....they check with their medical specialists and came back with no extra charge.....

The reason I asked is because I have just spoked to my insurers this morning, thru Nationwide, and they said I have to pay £85. to be covered for any problems with the new hip!!. I,m not sure if this would meen every year or not, but its still cheaper than paying for insurance anyway. Just had a quote from Saga, multi trip for me and Sue £165.
