I've been doing pretty good with my anxiety....
Recently I've been having trouble swallowing food. It's not that it hurts but it's like I'm focusing on it more and almost times it feels like something going to get stuck in my throat causing me to choke. I've been dealing with anxiety close 2 a year and haven't had this symptom yet. Is this another symptom of anxiety?? It's not any particular food it's just food in general.
Any feedback or maybe other ppl have dealt with this issue bf would be appreciated!!
Thanks
Hi mackie,
I have a similar symptom as yours, which my symptoms doesn't affect me to swallow foodi, but it affects me how to swallow my saliva. I became so sensitive and paid a lot of attention when I need to swallow saliva, sometimes it will cause some kind of pain around my neck, I tried not to focus on it but it doesn't really help me to get better.
The doctor I saw said our body works on its own and we shouldn't need to pay any kind of attention to our swallowing process, although the doctor clarified the issue, but I'm still suffering from it. My next step is go see a psychiatrist.
Get well soon

Hey thanks for the reply!!
I don't have a problem with swallowing saliva or liquid it's just when I'm chewing food it's almost like I have to make sure I break every nook and cranny down so it doesn't get stuck in my throat!! So swallowing is just like breathing it comes natural?? I know when my anxiety first started I would manually breathing and blinking were things!! I guess I'm just going through all the symptoms!! I'm getting better just this new thing has recently come up but I'll try not 2 focus on it!!
I have talked to a therapist online and it helped I'm also going to see a therapist at my local health Centre in a couple of weeks so.
Good luck man!!
