Hi I got my gallbladder out coming up 3 years , I can't mind if it's happened since then but everything worhoiy fail soon as I eat about half hour later I'm getting bad stomach cramps ☹ just not long toast and banana and I'm double over with bad cramps anyone else get this or for any tips with food to eat in morning as it's only then that it happens soon as I eat my first food in morning rest of day is fine thank u x
Sounds like what you can eat is similar to BRATs diet which is sometimes used when patients are having difficulties. BRATs stands for Bananas, Rice, Apple sauce, Tea and Toast. You could try this. It's not a long term solution, however. You really should have this investigated. You may have a stray stone still that has moved and blocked a duct? You certainly should not be getting pain three years after cholecystectomy. Definitely avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, alcohol and baked goods, except for bread meantime.
Aww thank u for the reply it's being going on for a while now it's only soon as I eat my first meal of the day , I tend to skip breakfast as I can't eat in the morning so its usually about 11-12 before I can eat I've been trying to be good and changed my diet since I got GB removed it's hard as I love all the wrong food lol I'm gonna try light meal for breakfast and c how I get on if it continues I'll go back to my doctor thanks again x
Let us know how you get on.
I'd eaten low fat for years at home (skimmed milk, rarely ate takeaways, no fried foods- don't possess a deep frier - was even vegetarian for a while) but when you go out for a meal, you have no control over how much fat they've used. My first big attack was after I'd eaten a chilli in a pub. It was advertised as 'under 600 calories' but that didn't mean it was low in fat of course and it was spicy. In eleven months I've gradually lost four stones in weight (suffered lack of appetite and been 'nil by mouth' quite a bit as I've had two major surgeries and several procedures during this time). Six months post op, my appetite is improved but I still eat low fat and avoid spicy foods. Used to love going out for pizza but only done that once and chose a low calorie version. Basically I can eat fatty foods without problems so long as it's not too much at once: I can eat one poached egg but not two for instance.
