Under severe stress and anxiety ALS please help

So like may of you I have anxiety, mines in the severe side. I understand that stress can do things physically to your body but I just need answers. For the past month I've had this feeling of tightness in  my left leg, it also feels a bit weak. Sometimes I stomp my heel when I walk, I'm cautious of almost every step I take. I wanted to know if any of you have ever had this feeling. A feeling of weakness and tightness in one leg, always stretching but never seems to go away. I know that als is failure and no I haven't stumbled or not been able to get back up but everything starts somewhere right?

Idk if it's me but my waking gait seems a little short gapped to me, when I walk I feel like I'm stomping and just walking awkward in general but on film it seems fairly normal?

It's mostly up my leg, like in the hip and quad.

I don't want anybody saying I don't have als cause that doesn't help. I want to know if any of my fellow hypochondriacs have ever felt these symptoms. A tight and weak feeling in ONE leg. And it just turned out to be another one of anxietys tricks.

Yes Ive had a tight weak feeling in one leg when I was in my twenties. Thought I had ALS . IM IN my fifties now and still alive.  ANXIETY WAS THE CULPRIT.

Too young for this condition!

Really? How was it like??

I had it on more than one occasion, in fact had it many times, especially when stress increased.  My muscle felt weird and weak and tight, but not to the point of falling, just mild weakness.  It was hard to explain to the doctor. I was scared because I had no internet for support like this.

I know for a fact that anxiety can cause muscle weakness and tightness.

Have you ever tried managing your anxiety like with a counselor?  I think your leg would relax if your anxiety was controlled a little better.

Thats what helped me.

Anxiety causes symptoms that mimic other conditions so people get scared which is understandable.  Try to remember that you have anxiety and it will play tricks with your mind. It did that to me but I finally became Aware of that and took steps to get my control back.  Now I don't get that symptom anymore.  I still get anxious occasionally but no symptoms.  Counseling helps as well as meditations for anxiety on you tube.

You will be ok. I'm living proof! 😁❤️

Thank Jan you've been very very helpful thank you

I visited my psychiatrist today due to my anxiety and current medication stopped working well after 10 years. They are offering to put me on Lithium tablets while taking my current medication.I also get pains in the chest and have had ecg's done and blood tests and all came back ok. Also pains in the stomach and leg too, weight loss and muscle spasms and shaking of hands on one occasion with night sweats.Going in to hospital to get an endoscopy tomorrow to make sure my stomach is fine. I have downloaded a meditations music app on my ipad and listening to that helps me at night.Best thing is to talk about these things with people who will listen as even most people can not get there head around depression or anxiety unless they are experiencing it first hand.

 You're welcome! 🤗
