Please could someone explain what this is please? Just so I can get better understanding
Hi James
I am not too sure if this means Pulmonary Hypertension, this is where the pressure is high on the right hand side of your heart and in the arteries that supply the lungs. I was diagnosed with this last week after having tests.
It is best to go and see your gp and ask for a better understanding.
I hope this helps a little
Ok thank you, was just interested they said there was a little bit of pressure in my right lung but heart is fine.
Hi James,
I also no little know nothing about this. How were they able to diagnose the pressure in your lung? Since my PE's all I have had are x-rays - should they have done more? (I ask this as I have had heart rhythm problems ever since the PE's).
Peter
Hello
X ray can spot if there pressure also if I remember. I got a ultra sound on the heart and lungs but there is also another thing you can do but I don't remember the name. My pressure was just about normal so it's not a major issue and your pressure will be up more because of your clots. I get palpertations quite often they are annoying. I'm sure they would of mentioned something if it was a major concern. Hope all goes well
Hi James,
Thanks for that. I had no idea they could see so much on an x-ray...."every day is a learning day". It is also comforting to know that palpitations are common too (although rather obtrusive). I am booked to see the specialist in a few weeks, so wanted to get any questions straight in my head.
many thanks Peter
No problem I'm pretty sure they can a xray will still show up your heart and so on it shows the size of it to see if it's enlarged or something I'm guessing if there was a lot of pressure could increase the size but don't quote me on any of this I'm not 100%
