Mise à jour : douleur après la chute de mon fils et sa présentation

The most awful thing was to see son limp right after the fall. And he said he didn't want to blame me. But I still felt bad.

He did use his cane at the conference, as we had to walk far, and up & down stairs. He still walks faster than me as my knee has been a problem. Just what we need - another one with a limp!

Because the registration was so disorganized, he got to the presentation room with only ten minutes to spare & was nervous & sweaty. But he did really well - was poised, ad-libbed, showed a sense of humor. Not bad for someone who had one hour of sleep! There were other sessions but he said he knows his limit.

He thanked me for my help by taking me to eat sushi for lunch. He is taking two 650mg acetaminophen & two 220mg naproxen a day - which I think are well under the maximum for both. We had seen the story of a pro hockey player who had two hip replacements because he took too much naproxen, and he expressed worry about that. He brought Norco with him but hasn't had to take it.

Later that night he realized there was a luau, so went there to get something to eat & spoke to a few classmates & professors.

Sorry this is so long. Mahalo to all for listening/reading.

Sounds as if it was a good day - super news. I am so glad for both of you.

hugs,

L

Hey Soos

Thats good to hear it went well l have been thinking about you. I though it would be over with now. I also watched a documentary about presciption drugs in the us and it had a part about a guy that got 2 hip replacements and ended up addicted to drugs but when l watched it l realised its totally diffrent over there how easy it is to get a prescription over there and just go to difrent drug stores and get your bottle filled up and the guy was also taking steroids and all sort of other things he was a wwf wrestler and there was a pro basket ball player and diffrent sports people. Apparently its a huge problem in the us and it actually made me feel a bit better as some of these guys were taking from 30 to 90 tablets a day.

Its impossible to do that here as you get 1 prescription for painkillers that all you are allowed to get and they won't give you another presciption until you have finished your course according to how many you are ment to take per day. I counted out what l was taking and l am only taking 8 painkillers per day 4 of 1 and 4 of the other which is less than half l was when l 1st got discharged. So l am no longer worried about getting addicted or taking to much l will slowley drop 1 per day over the next month until l feel l am ready not to take them

I could not beleive 1 guy was taking 90 per day sometimes a handful of oxy mixed with about 4 diffrent types of other stuff like steroids and viargra just because he was one of these muscle men.

Am feeling great at the moment having a good week now when l feel l am getting better again.

You will be glad that the confrence over and done now you can maybe get to take it break.

And honey stop blaming yourself because of his fall its not your fault. I fell right after my 1st thr as l stepped on my decking and it was icy at the time amd my leg slid away from me. I managed to get my hands down before my hips touched the ground.

I got more of a fright than anything slse. I still walk with a limp as l have not got great knee's either and l feel they are taking a lot of strain just now because of my hips.

I think l alwsys will walk with a limp but as long as l don't have pain its fine with me.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Linda, mahalo for your words of encouragement.

Aloha, Soos

Yes, Laura, the amount & scope of drug abuse is dreadful. If you can afford it. You just pay people to get prescriptions for you. I'm sorry about your knees, Laura., but so happy you're having better days!

Hope you're having a great morning, & I will get back to you.

Aloha, Soos

My dear Miss Aloha Hippy:

I am sure you are meant to be in Hawaii! Caveat: it's 85 feels like 88!

While son is making an effort, if Is exhausting for him.

On Tuesday, I had my lungs, knees, boobs checked. Sorry - TMI!

Mahalo plenty!

Soos
