Endoscopia digestiva alta (EGD) Alguém mais teve essa dor nas costas?

Thank you very much for responding. Its good to hear that yours is slowly getting a little better. I was sedated for the procedure and I didn't have any complications but I found it weird that he said my throat didn't need to be stretched but he did it anyway to possibly help with the lump i was feeling in my throat. I guess what is done is done. I'm just worried that they messed me up. I hope that we heal soon from this. Please let me know how your experience ends up going.

Hello! I know this post is older but I was really hoping you could tell me if your back pain ever went away? It has been 4 months now for me. I am hopeful that it will go away eventually.

Hello Charlotte! I wanted to see if your back pain ever went away? I am still very hopeful that mine will but now it has been over three months.

Unfortunately it's almost been 2 years since my endoscopy, my back pain is still here. it is not a sharp pain but a constant dull pain. i've seen many doctors had MRI. Nothing unusual is found. it is frustrating and i still think it is caused by the endoscopy. well nothing i can do for now. just have to live with it.

oh my gosh this is the only thing I've found on this topic! I had my endoscopy on Tuesday and Wednesday night the back pain started. Today, Thursday, I'm in so much pain in my back and nothing is relieving it. my right hip is also sore so I'm wondering if they had to restrain me and held down my hip and shoulder. So so painful I can hardly move.

3-5 weeks! do you have any idea why we have this back pain?

3 months! do you know why we have this back pain? its severe and i cant find any information online!

Do they have to tell us if they restrain us or if something goes wrong and we start going crazy? It seems like that is a complication they would have to tell us about right???

Oh my goodness. I am so sorry 2 years is such a long time. I am already losing my mind. Im 27 and have never had any health problems before this. it just seems crazy that this could be caused by an endoscopy. It makes no sense. I cant life the rest of my life like this.

I am so sorry i do not understand it at all. mine isnt severe but is dull and almost constant and mixed with cheat pain occasionally. But by the end of the day i feel so annoyed

i am very confused too and have no ideas why it is happening. i had some minor stomachache before the endoscopy but i never had the back pain. which part of your back hurts? Mine is in the middle more towards the upper part. and the pain can shift between middle left and right. i hope you will feel better soon !

Yes it is super confusing. My back pain is in the upper part of my back right in the middle. I also sometimes get dull chest pains. Have you found anything that helps your back pain? i have never experienced anything like this before in my life. I wish i would have never had the endoscopy done. I had mine done because I had this lump feeling in my throat and my throat would get sore and it would hurt to swallow. Turns out it was just silent reflux. I would love to go back and just have that lump in my throat feeling and not this constant discomfort.

yes i totally agree with you, i would never have the endoscopy done. My stomachache pain was not even that bad. my back pain is dull. sometimes it goes away but always comes back.i feel it on a daily basis. so far i haven't found anything effective to stop the pain. i used to think it is caused by acid reflux so i took medicine for that but it didn't help. it is very frustrating since no doctor can explain what is going on with me. Best luck to both of us. Hopefully one day it will go away.

I too am experiencing back pain following an endoscopy. I have had them before with no problems. I feel blown off by the doctor who did the procedure. I called right away about this. No one can give me an answer and I'm in moderate pain. I see on this forum that for some the pain never went away. it hurts to even swallow my own saliva. NO ONE is helping me or giving me any answers at all. it is extremely frustrating.

I am so glad to find this post as i thought i was losing my mind and imagining these pains!! i had an OGD done last Thursday, i was sedated and they took some bisopies. I remember nothing about the procedure except feeling it was all very in & out (no explanation of anything or introduction etc). The next day i had really bad back and throat pain. 5 days on and still sore to swallow, reflux is much worse (bitter taste in the back of my throat), pain on right side of my back from my shoulder blade down & my right lower side, plus chest tightness/stabbing pains. I do suffer from anxiety so im sure my fear of what the hell is going on/am i having a heart attack thoughts are adding to the pain. I'm beyond annoyed that i went through with this and had i of known the potential after problems i would not of had the scope done. Prior to procedure i had on/off reflux but on zoton which has kept it largely at bay whereas now i'm in agony. I really hope it will improve asap:(

I had this done over 12 months ago and even though they sedate you you thrash around and they have to keep you still ,it injured my lower back ,I had never had back pain before now I get it regular on and off, when I finally cane round from sedation I had wet myself i was in a right state ,my report did say I had not handled the procedure well , I won't be having another

hello I have endoscopy done on 25th and am actually going through similar shoulder, groin chest and back pain all left going down wards. when I breathe i can feel the pain,my tummy feels full all the time and as if food is constantly stuck i my throat. I somehow feel worst after having the endoscopy done. Thought I would feel better, but am still sore in the stomach 6 days on now. can't wait to speak/see with Gp tommorrow. So much discomfort I am frustrated.

Hi I am so happy you're still responding to these after so long it really helps us out.

It seems like I am feeling the EXACT same symptoms. Never in my life have I had this. It all started the day of my procedure about 4 or so hours in later in the evening. (that was about a month ago) I randomly got pain in my back directly in the middle between my shoulder blades. It was dull, achy and somewhat had a burning feeling. It lasted for 4 days pretty bad... It seems to get better for a week and then it will randomly come back. It doesn't seem to be as bad as it was the first four days but I keep getting that same feeling randomly.

I really hope it goes away and I will update you guys on if it does! Advil seems to help it a lot but I don't want to be on that forever. The only thing that is comforting about this is that I am not alone and can see that we all are experiencing the exact same things. I am sure it isn't life threatening but just very annoying. I see some people have it worse than me and I really feel bad for them! Hope you all get better.

Looks like it has been another three months now. Is it better for you now Clare? How often do you get it, does it go away? How do you help the pain?

Josh

hi im new too the group..... I too had an endoscope done 3 days ago under sedation I didnt know anything even happened too me... until the day after my tummy was sore from the gas... I got over that but the pain in my center chest an back is so sore almost like its brused... I had a few biopsy taken for polyps an awaiting results.... any advice is greatly needed xxx

Hi there. I had an EGD yesterday (11/16) I did not experience anything after the sedation, and do not remember even how I got home. Although I woke up today with the back pain ( right shoulder blade). I could not find the information if this is normal. Did it take 6 weeks for your pain to go away?

Thank you!
